Pastor Leonard is founding pastor of Heartcry Chapel. Encountering a relationship with Jesus Christ in 1984, Pastor Leonard was immediately active and passionate about sharing his faith in his sphere of influence, especially in the insurance industry where he enjoyed a twenty six year career. He was commonly known as the "business pastor", leading many to Jesus during his business career, including peers and clients. He and his wife Karen moved to Clermont, Florida in 2002 to support and serve as Associate Pastor of Heart House Ministries, having been ordained under that ministry. In 2005, hearing God's call to go to another level of faith, Pastor retired from business and with Karen founded Heartcry Chapel. With a heart for people without Christ and a passion to see Christians living out Biblical lives, his teachings and counsel emphasize having a real relationship with Jesus Christ and living life as a true disciple of Jesus Christ. ( See our vision page ). Pastor Leonard and Karen have been married over 35 years and have three adult sons, two daughters-in-law and three grandchildren. Steve serves as Executive Pastor for Heartcry, having joined the Staff in July of 2006. Steve committed his life to Christ while attending a student summer camp in seventh grade. After completing his college education he was ordained into the ministry. Pastor Steve has served as a Student Pastor, Family Pastor and Executive Pastor in churches over the eastern U.S in his more than twenty-eight years in full-time ministry. In addition to administration of the church Pastor oversees the Student and Children's ministries and gives direction to other ministries as needed. He and his wife Linda, a full-time educator, have been married twenty-seven years and have an adopted daughter, Jessica. In 2005 she and husband Rob attended a vision-casting dinner Heartcry Chapel and it was at that vision dinner God began unwrapping His call on her life. Leaving her teaching job of eight years, she began fully submitting herself to God's gifting and calling to be a Worship Leader. Melissa leads with a passion that overflows to the congregation as people are lead into real praises of our heavenly Father. Melissa and husband Rob ( who serves as Director of Audio/Visual Dept. ) have two children, daughter Ana and son Aiden. Chris Durost serves as Children's Minister Heartcry Chapel. He leads the Kids' Church weekend services in both the worship experience and in biblical teaching. Chris has been with the Heartcry staff since 2007 and his wife Melissa volunteers in the children's ministry. Chris has a gift of making learning fun and effective and his joyful personality is contagious. Chris and Melissa live in St. Cloud and have four children of their own so children's ministry comes natural to someone who loves kids as Chris does.
