Rude & Unprofessional

The owner of this Once Upon A Child location is unbelievably rude and unprofessional. When I decided not to sell a few of my items they had made offers on, she acted as though I was a huge inconvenience to her. While I was looking for things to purchase with the store credit I had to take, she wouldn't let my son go in the designated kids' play area because it had "just been cleaned". Ten minutes before the store closed a few customers walked up to the door and she locked it so they couldn't come in. Before getting ready to leave, I said "thank you" to her and repeated myself two times and she just ignored me. Then, while I was carrying out big boxes of my items they didn't purchase, she was standing right next to the door and wouldn't even open it for me.

The next day I went to the Once Upon A Child in Naperville to sell the remaining items and I mentioned how rude the owner of the St. Charles location was and the sales clerk said "we hear that all the time".

Drive the extra distance and go to one of the other locations! This is a franchise and she owns this store, so don't give her your business!

SHADY STORE!

Although I have never shopped at this patiuclar ONCE UPON A CHILD location, I had a similar situation happen. I brought 2 bags of clothing in, was told to give them atleast 3 business days to go through everything. They called me that night saying they were done and the stuff needed to be picked up TOMORROW. There was no way I could get out there by tomorrow, I have 4 kids with very busy schedules. Anyway, I told the girl I will be out later in the week, and she seemed to be okay with it. I got there, and they told me all the clothes were stuff from the previous season and they could not buy most of it, but could offer me a $7.89 store credit! I almost passed out, I drove over 30 minutes just to get to the damn store on $4.00 a gallon gas for $7.00! The kicker is, I asked for my stuff back, figured I would just sell it on ebay, and the cashier told me she had already donated it to some chairty without my consent! I demanded that she better figure out a way to get my stuff back, I had over $400 worth of gap/gymboree type clothing and she told me there was nothing she could do, and that the truck already picked up all the clothes. I asked for a tax refund slip, and she couldn't even get one to me. My bet is they are all selling this stuff in their stores the following year or selling it on ebay themselves! Next time, ask for a name/phone number of the chairty and the tax I.D number for it too, chances are you will not get any.

The owner stole my brand new Pacifiers!!!

Please Please Please don't go to this resale shop. The people that work there are very rude and unfair. I came in with a brand new pacifier container completely unopened and some other items. She told me they don't sell pacifiers because of safety reasons. She told me to walk around and look at some items while she decided to go through my clothes, once she was done with that she gave me a measily $5.00 for an almost new Carter's Pram and then didn't return my UNOPENED AVENT Pacifiers!!! I have been calling them and they still haven't been able to locate them! There is something wrong with the people that are running that store and I hope nobody else has to go through what me and other have experienced. I'm going to contact the BBB immediately and report them!

The Owner Stole my coat!

I brought in my things for an offer, she took 10 days to get back to me. On a Friday evening the owner left a message on my answering machine that she would give me $3.50, and I have 24 hours to pick up. I was out of town and I came in the next day after receiving the message. I did not want the store credit she offered me and she refused to give me back my coat. I insisted she either give me my coat or cash, she refused. I asked for a corporate number and she laughed and refused to give it to me, she also said it would do me no good, and if I didn't leave she would call the police.I was shocked she could be so horrible! A customer who was behind me followed me out of the store and gave me an web address that I could complain about her to. The customer told me she was a new owner and there has been many complaints about her. She also said that she had no right to sell my items without verbal acceptance of her offer. I called the owner and told her what her customer told me and she hung up on me! I am speaking with the corporate office now, and hope this issue will be resolved. I am requesting that this owner donate $75.00 to the Salvation Army for the purchase of a new coat that a child in need can receive, and a letter of apology for her bullying me and taking my property. I will update if this issue get resolved!
