Several years back I was researching history of a property in Butte Creek Canyon regarding old road easements and documents regarding a California Land Patent. I made several trips to the State Land Commission office where they have archive records involving State Land Patents and the folks there were extremely helpful and easy to work with un-like any other state agency I have ever worked with. They also hand some very interesting old colored maps of the various counties of California and other historic documents on display. If you are interested I old California history I recommend you visit these folks. Two thumbs up!
