National Coney Island was founded by James Giftos in 1965 when he opened his very first store at the Macomb Mall in Roseville, Mich. The restaurant has grown to operate 20 locations in southeastern Michigan. Each of the establishments features a diverse menu of all-American classics. The chain serves Detroit-style hot dogs and hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hand-dipped milkshakes and Sander s hot fudge sundaes. National Coney Island also serves special recipe chili. The restaurant locations each feature gift certificates, monthly specials, banquet facilities and catering services. Some of the restaurants also provide beer and wine service.
