The work was done well & the techs knowledgeable. The first invoice I received, The labor hours were overstated by 2x. When I questioned this, they checked, and this was correct. Only after I told them I had security video, did they claim the unauthorized hours they added, were for driving and shopping. A bathroom caulking job...how's it possible a professional handyman co. is unprepared for this? I told my realtor, I thought this company was deliberately trying to cheat me. He knows & called the owner. The owner called me and basically said he didn't believe my wife and I, and his attitude seemed like he just didn't want the hassle. He didn't even know what he was calling about, but told us to pay whatever we wanted. This offended me. I implored him to please look at the way his billing practices represented his company. To me, it appears intentionally dishonest. The owner did call back, the next day. He focused on the inflated materials charges that were also on the invoice. Also, he subtracted the unauthorized time they had added, but offered no explanation as to how this could happen. Here's the other issue: Their email quote for their pricing states $95/hr for the 1st hour, $65 for every additional hour. They didn't tell me they had a 2 hour minimum, until I got the bill. I think any reasonable person would think the 30% higher cost for the 1st hour, covers a minimum...not what I found out from them, after the fact. Actually, it seems they have a 2 hour/$160 minimum. Of course, businesses are free to create their own pricing structures. However, the customer should be given this information when they quote their prices (they did not), not when they bill you. By this time, I was exhausted by this experience, so I just paid the 2 hour minimum. For these reasons, I sincerely believe anyone hiring this company should be extremely careful and watch everything they do very carefully. I find it hard to believe that they don't do this to other customers.

My Opinion: Good Work/Techs, Dishonest Billing

My realtor recommended I contact Dr Handyman HD in Rohnert Park, to do some work in preparation for the sale of my home. The work was done well and the techs were knowledgeable. The problems began with the billing. The first invoice I received, The hours for labor were overstated by 2x. When I questioned this, the company told me they checked, and this was correct. Only after I told them I had security video, did they claim the unauthorized hours they added, were for driving and shopping. This was a bathroom caulking job...how is it possible a professional handyman company is unprepared for this? The owner called me and basically said he didn't believe my wife and I, and his attitude seemed like he just didn't want the hassle, he didn't even know what he was calling about. He told us to pay whatever we wanted. This offended me. In my most polite voice, I implored him to please look at the way his billing practices represented his company. To me, it appears intentionally dishonest. The owner did call back, the next business day. He focused on the inflated materials charges that were also on the invoice (that he also adjusted). Also, he subtracted the unauthorized time they had added, but offered no explanation as to how this could happen.
