I had a mostly positive experience with this company for our first pet-sitting, but here at our second experience, I am profoundly disappointed. I called ahead specifically to find out the vaccines that Pet's Best Friend required in order to pet-sit, and one of the owners told me that bordatella wasn't required. We made a vet visit specifically to update vaccines for our completely housebound dog accordingly. Now, today, the same owner is telling me it is required. He did acknowledge the error ("If I said that, I was wrong...") but was completely unwilling to work with me to alleviate the scheduling stress (that he caused) of taking my older dog back into the vet for yet another visit. Both my husband and I work full-time, and we have small children, so our weekend time is at a premium, plus our vacation is within a week, so we are literally running out of time to schedule alternate care. My dog is too important to me, and I'll do what I have to do to ensure she is cared for. For the record, I don't mind getting the bordatella vaccine, even though the dog is literally never outside of the house (except for our large fenced-in backyard and for normal vet visits). But I was told specifically that this would not be needed, and so I planned accordingly. I'm on a tight schedule as the vacation is so soon, and I counted on Pet's Best Friend to stand by their word and work with me (again, the dog is never outside of our home), but, other than cursory apologies ("I'm sorry, but that's our policy."), the owner showed extraordinary lack of concern at putting us in this bind; he even said, "Maybe we're not the pet-sitting service for you." Even though the mistake was 100% his fault. I'm so upset at the lack of integrity and customer service from a business we had come to trust.

UPDATE: I did want to edit this review after the other owner Susan contacted me in response to an email I sent about our situation. Susan was kind and understanding, apologizing for what happened and taking responsibility to fix it. She assured me that what I experienced was not their service level expectation. She was willing to work with us around the vaccine requirement and even offered us a discount on our pet-sitting for the inconvenience. We feel that she has turned a big negative into a positive and are very appreciative.
