Wish I could give less stars. Gave the wrong prescription and wouldn't fix it. Confused me with another patient and gave me her insurance rates. Office is run terribly.

Dr. Schmidlap and his Staff are wonderful!!!! They all go out of their way to make our family feel welcome and comfortable. My husband and I are both patients at Rockwall Precision Eye Care . Dr. Schmidlap is very meticulous with his exams and makes sure you receive the correct prescription for your eyes. Both of my boys are his patients also and he is wonderful with children. He always tells them what he is going to do before he does it so they are informed and prepared during their examinations. He even saw my son on a Sunday when I thought he had pink eye. It turned out that he had developed an ulcer on his eye, which is very painful and if left untreated would have been dangerous. He was gracious and kind and spent time explaining the causes and how we were going to treat the issue. Above and beyond does not begin to describe his dedication. Thank you Dr. Schmidlap!! I found Dr Brent when I lost a contact lens several years ago and needed help right away. My previous Dr had moved his practice farther away. He was friendly and professional and very ingenious! He asked me about a certain type of correction that I really wasn't sure my brain could handle..and he accepted that. Then as he proceeded with the exam I was amazed at the results...it was the very type of correction I had been unsure about! I really love this Dr and hope he stays in the area a very long time. Never felt rushed..and having worn contacts for over 20 years...I know it can take several visits to get just the right fitting for you...some Drs prescribe lenses then expect you to adjust to wearing them!

I read that Dr.Schmidlap was voted Best Optometrist in Rockwall in our local paper. After having problems with my last pair of glasses from another place, I decided to go to his office. The staff was warm and friendly and very helpful. My exam was thorough and Dr. Schmidlap's prescription is helping me see better than I think I ever have. And my glasses I got look great!

I recently took my 12 year old son to Dr. Schmidlap to see if he could wear contacts. After the exam and after answering a thousand questions from me, Dr. Schmidlap provided a training session to help my son successfully wear contacts for the first time. The care of Dr. Schmidlap and his staff get an "A" for their work with my son. Thanks Dr. Schmidlap, Tobey is thrilled.

He rushed thru everything too make more money, and it takes several visits to find the right prescription
