For more than 45 years Rockville Community Nursery School has offered a cooperative preschool community in which parents, teachers, and children work together in an exciting and nurturing first-school experience. Our purpose is to provide preschool-age children with developmentally appropriate learning experiences, through which each child can grow at his or her own pace to a new maturity and sense of self-worth and self-direction, and to provide experiences for parents aimed at broadening their resources and understanding of their young child. RCNS is a non-profit institution. RCNS does not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, religion, gender, national or ethnic origin. Limited openings are available for 2- 3- and 4-year-old children. For more information, please visit our website at www.RCNScoop.org or call 301-340-7584.

Small classes Play-based curriculum Excellent teachers Music, Dance, Art Parent involvementJoyful school experience Beautiful playground Nonsectarian Cooperative Parent-participation preschool As a cooperative preschool, RCNS believes that parents are a vital part of a child’s first school experience. In addition to formally trained and licensed professional teachers who guide the daily curriculum towards play-based learning objectives, parents take scheduled turns assisting the teacher for the full morning in the classroom. We believe that parent participation is a wonderful way to know our children more deeply, to show them in a strong and meaningful way that we value their educational experience, and to grow together as parents in a nurturing community. Rockville Community Nursery School is a parent-participation preschool, offering a variety of classes for 2-, 3- and 4-year-olds from 9:30am-12:30pm, plus an optional Lunch Bunch until 2:00pm for kids in the 3s or 4s classes. Children who turn 2 mid-year are welcomed into our Tuesday morning class, where they can explore science, art, social development and music together in a rich shared parent/child experience. Tours are free and open to any interested family; please see our website or call for dates. Limited openings are available in our Fall 2012 program. Please visit our website for full information about our school and programs. http://www.RCNScoop.org
