My family and I absolutely love this place! The owner, Henry, always makes us feel welcome. The entrees are all made from scratch even their pasta! The lasagna is great and so is the portobello fettuccini. Be sure to leave some room for a piece of the tiramisu. Yum!

One of our favorite places to eat out on date night. We have never been disappointed and the gnochi is amazing! It is small and the staff is wonderful.

Wonderful food. Family place too. Very friendly wait staff. Not a large restaurant. Taste like grandma's food.

What a refreshing change from all the chain restaurants in the area! This local Italian restaurant serves pizza, pasta, and other Italian fare in a friendly atmosphere. The wine list is varied with a mix of wines not just from California. Food is delicious, and during the week there is special pricing. We will be back!

Good local Italian place. The pizza is really good. I love the seafood pizza and the pasta is delicious. The portions are huge, so come hungry or ready to share dishes!
I like to have lunch here with my family.

We have been coming to Via Roma for years! The red sauce is absolutely the best anywhere around! You can't go wrong with any of the pasta dishes!

If you live Italian food then you must try Via Roma in Rocklin off sunset! We are there last night and it was delicious. The owner was fabulous buying us a glass of wine and tiramisu for our wait. We will be back!!

If you are looking for Italian food that goes beyond the typical chain restaurant fare, this is the place. And you can tell it's the place by the number of customers that pack into Via Roma on a nightly basis. Coming on a weekend? Reservations will really help. Via Roma is tucked away in a strip mall just down the street from William Jessup University. But there is nothing strip mall about the food or the experience. Via Roma dishes up some seriously good Italian food. If you are going casual, you can always try their pizza which has a light crust and fresh toppings. The entrees are absolutely delicious -- from house lasagna -- a sublime mix of pasta, sauce and cheesy goodness -- to gnocchi, a dish I don't usually favor. But this gnocchi, with pancetta, mushrooms, butter and sage has become a favorite. If you are looking for super fancy, this is not the place. But if you are looking for great food you will find it here. The owner is front and center, greeting guests and making them feel like they matter. And the atmosphere is warm and welcoming -- if a bit noisy at times. Dress up if you like, or come casual. The food will not disappoint and you may find yourself with a new favorite Italian place.

Via Roma is a cute local restaurant where the owner always greets you like family. The homemade pasta and gnocchi are delicious!

Updating my initial review, as Mario sold the restaurant to one of his longtime employees, Henry. We are loyal regulars and will continue to frequent; however, we've noticed a decrease in quality and presentation (ex: large portion of pasta slopped into a too-small bowl with sauce dripping) and atmosphere (ex: staff sitting down to eat at large family table at 9pm while restaurant is still open). I hope that they remember it's the little things that make up a great dining experience. The basic menu that Mario created is still outstanding (best red sauce, absolutely delicious pizzas) and the staff always friendly and welcoming.
