Breakwater Inspections (more specifically, John Howard) recently inspected a house we are planning to buy. His inspection was thorough and complete. He explained everything really well and in a way we could understand. He is not only super nice, but super good at what he does. We learned about some issues with the house that would have been expensive to fix. We got a price reduction from the seller that was a life-saver to fix the problems. We are doing a big shout-out to everyone! If you need a great home inspector, John is your guy!

Buying a home is a very stressful process and there are many home inspectors and services available to the public. I checked out a few that were recommended to us but no one came close to John Howard of Breakwater Inspections. John was amazing and extremely helpful and responded to emails promptly. He was very thorough and knowledgeable and made a lot of recommendations throughout the whole process. He did the inspection without any delays and produced a very balanced and informative report with photographs immediately. John is welcome to feel free to use our family as a reference anytime. A typical inspection will take between 2 and 3 hours, and depends upon several factors that include the size of the property, the overall condition, age, and complexity of the systems. Should I attend the inspection? Clients are encouraged to attend the inspection and ask all the questions they have. Attending the inspection is also a great way to learn more about the home's systems and recommended maintenance. At the end of the inspection, a comprehensive narrative report with photos will be prepared and delivered within 24 hours. Coverage area: Breakwater Inspections is based in the Rockland, Maine (04841) area. The coverage area is broad and ranges from the Portland to Bar Harbor areas up the coast - out to the Lewiston, Waterville, Augusta, and Bangor areas - and out to several of the islands.
