Just recently moved a moderately long distance with Becker Movers ( around 75 miles ) and I am very glad I chose their company. After reading all the horrible reviews online I was a little nervous but Becker had moved my parents 4 years prior and it went awesome. My moving team, Corey and Al were two of the most polite, hardworking young men I have ever encountered. They took special care of all my fragile items and worked very quickly on an extremely hot, humid day. After the move I was missing a small fan and bathroom scale so I called the office. Had a great interaction with the staff who checked twice to see if it could be located. Days later I found these items stuck into a laundry basket by my boyfreind. Prompt, courteous and reasonably priced, if you are moving call Becker, they ROCK!

The movers never bothered to show up and when I called the office I was treated very poorly.. Not once but twice. When I inquired why they didn't show up they nonchalantly told me they were still busy with the other job they were on and their phones didn't work. The second time I called I spoke to another person and commented about how rude the first person I talked to was, instead of an apology I got "no he wasn't I'm sitting right here". I politely canceled my services and let them know had they just communicated that they would be late they would still have my business. A little customer service goes a long way and unfortunately this company lacks the professionalism needed for this business.

Movers were unprofessional - whining about how heavy certain things were (and the boxes were packed carefully with weight in mind). Took them 15 minutes holding our couch to figure out how to get it out the door. One mover answered his phone 2-3 times during the process. Paid way too much.

We recently used Becker Movers to move our furniture to our new home. It was a mistake we will never make again and hope that in sharing our experience we can prevent the same thing from happening to as many people as possible. It took 2 ½ months but we finally received a check to cover the damages their employees did. We received .30 cents a pound for each of the damaged items, I believe that is the minimum amount that they are required to pay in NY state. Which pretty much sums up the way you and your household goods will be treated if you contract with Becker Movers. They don’t seem to be concerned about providing quality service, their reputation, customer opinion or any of the characteristics you’d hope to find in a company you are trusting all of your belongings to. If you look at all of the complaints filed against Becker Movers with the BBB the response is pretty much always the same - they settled with the customers according to the contract that was signed. Well according to the contract you will have to try to replace or clean a queen sized mattress set that the movers spilled a red energy drink on for .30 cents a pound or $45, replace or fix a $1000 tiled outdoor table that arrived with tiles missing for $60, there were scratches and dents in dressers, headboards, the dining room table and they did more damage in 3 hours to our homes hardwood floors than apparently had been done in the 100 years the house has been standing (which they wouldn’t address at all). It wasn’t just one item it was overall incompetence - now we can either choose to pay over $3000 out of pocket to fix and/or replace the belongings or live with them damaged. We have shared our frustration with the quality of service we received from Becker Movers with family, friends, coworkers, etc. and found that not one person that had used Becker Movers would use them again. Our advice to you is that If you do choose to use Becker Movers, take out as much extra insurance as possible, you will need it!

They did a good job for us and worked hard but we had an issue with two missing large cups of coins one of which was all quarters so the total amount based on past experience would have been about 50 - 75 dollars. We called and reported the issue and they said they'd look into it but never followed through. A few weeks later as we were cleaning out the final few items we found the cups, empty, pushed to the back of a bathroom vanity. We called again, they said they'd look into it and again, nothing. We can't prove this happened of course. All we were trying to do was was alert them that someone on the crew is a thief. A 'thanks for letting us know' and a 'we'll be watching that crew closely' would have been enough. If you use them remove anything of any value and move it yourself.

This is a company I have been using for years. The staff is always very personable and helpful to suit my needs. I have had estimates for each move I have had and they have been very accurate. It is hard to find hard workers nowadays and I was more than satisfied with the dedication the movers had. They moved my furniture in a timely fashion and worked all day until their job was complete. I will continue to use Becker Movers in the future.
