Loved working with HBS! It started with our Factory tour; they were willing to show us everything and anything at the pace we wanted. Next trip we spent some time looking at the options available to us so we could make final decisions. We opted in most cases to go with the "higher" options (i.e. 9' ceilings, 6" exterior walls, higher grade carpet, etc). Once we ordered the home delivery was on the schedule they laid out for us. The setup and site work was done efficiently by a sub contractor, not HBS. Like any large/complex purchase, there were problems. These items were handled efficiently and to our satisfaction. After about 18 months we had a plumbing leak, I called a plumber to get fixed immediately; however, I took pictures of the problem and corresponded with HBS about it, they paid the full plumbers bill! We are considering building another house in Florida and only wish HBS was here because they would get our business with no question!

We asked HBS to give us pricing on a custom design. Their pricing, responsiveness, and efforts were first rate. I read other negative reviews, but found our experience superior to most others as we review options for building our house, including some of the higher rated companies. I think the new management is turning things around and I would recommend at least checking out HBS if you are building a new home.

Our house was set in January, 2012. We first noticed that there was what we felt was excessive jarring in the floors. We notified Future Homes in Hampstead who sold us the home and they did address the issue and had a crew to come and add some additional supports. About a year ago, the entire kitchen floor has what sounds like loose boards and some give in areas. We were told that since we were up on pylons and had an open floor plan, this was contributing to the problem although in one of the bedrooms the floors are very noisy from one wall to the other. Future Homes did come check our complaint last week but suggested we notify the warranty company which we did. We were told it would be $200.00 for them to come evaluate but unless it was catastrophic and unsafe , they would not cover it. Future Homes was excellent to work with but HBS did not deliver the quality home that we expected.

There is so much damage the home needs to be gutted and rebuilt.

WILL NOT FIX OUR HOME UNTIL I REMOVE THIS REVIEW . That is Blackmail and ILLEGAL. I just spoke with the Attorney General from the Department of Justice, we are going to continue our fight.
We are filing all this with our attorney today, 8/18/2016.

Its great to see how little the owner and his reps care about their own company. I will fight this till the day I die if that is what it takes.

We are scheduled to have meetings this week or next. I will change our review based on the outcome of that.

So far and overall, completely unhappy and the workmanship is nowhere near the word quality.
They are trying to convince us to repair and patch things that should not be, these are things that should be brand new and pristine to begin with.

We will not tolerate the product we have in its current condition. Bobby refused Donnie wanting to show the damage to the sheet rock with a flashlight. Everything he said to us today went 100% against his response to the other negative review on here. He made it sound like the "Wild West" of home buying. With NO Oversight or concern what the builders said or did. That is how Bobby, the Vice President portrayed Holmes Building Systems, saying there was no Regulations on Pricing or Options.
Bobby do you realize that everything you said is in contradiction with your response to the other review on here? You guys are starting to look as you are comically insane. We feel like we are part of some comedy movie, if I had not heard what you said for ourselves I would not believe someone else telling me that.

The worst service I could ever imagine. The home was delivered with the shabbiest construction ever. I had 3 pages of thing that were wrong on my walk through. First crew that came out set sleeping bags up in the house and was living there. They did such a bad job that HBS sent one of the guys and his mother back out. It took them 5 days to fix all their mistakes. Had to have another crew come out to finish the 3 page list. The only problem is that the service manager gave them a list to just look at and report back to him with. The service manager then sent another crew out to fix the rest of the list, these guys where unbelievable! They had no list of thing to do, yelled and screamed at each other the whole day, I had to tell them to redo work because it was so bad, and believe it or not the one guy would not use the bath room in the house, he did everything in my woods. I mean everything! I would never recommend buying a home from this company! Buy a different home!
