We had our beloved 15 year old cat undergo a major operation last Friday, 5/16/14. He was in such delicate shape post surgery that our vet suggested taking him to Emergency Vet Services of Roanoke for the weekend. He was in great trauma when we arrived and they immediately brought him back to a critical, but more stable condition. We discussed treatment and agreed to talk later that evening. When I called back the doctor defined a protocol and we provided authorization for blood transfusions and other treatment as necessary. We spoke with the doctor for an update and visited our cat the next morning with a new doctor. She provided further updates and was guarded in her assessment, which was appropriate. She called later that afternoon saying he had taken a drastic turn for the worse and we went there. It was clear our poor little guy was losing his battle and we had to say goodbye. The doctor was professional and compassionate, as was the doctor the night before. While losing our cat was emotionally difficult we felt very good about the quality of care, the professionalism and the bedside manner the doctors and staff provided. While costly, it is not unlike staffing and providing care 24 hours for humans. Thanks for helping out in such difficult time for us. We hope to not have to return for obvious reasons but would not hesitate to bring another one of our precious pets there if needed.

Awful. These people are rude and hateful. When I called about my cat the lady wanted to tell me the fees and the financial policy before even knowing what I was calling about. She said the vet was busy and seemed to think she had equal knowledge yet after I insisted on talking with the vet the answer I got was not so similar after all. I'm not sure why they are in the business of taking care of animals with such cold hearted ways but i sure do wish there was an alternative option in the area.

NO STARS FOR THESE EVIL PEOPLE.

THESE PEOPLE TURNED IN KITTENS SO THEY WILL END UP BEING KILLED AT THE POUND RATHER THAN GIVING THEM A CHANCE TO FIND HOMES. THEY OBVOIUSLY HATE ANIMALS AND ENJOY DESTROYING ANIMALS.

I WILL NEVER AGAIN GO TO THIS HELL HOLE AND I WOULD ENCOURAGE OTHERS TO STAY AWAY FROM THEM. ALLTHEY WANT IS MONEY AND DONT CARE ABOUT THE ANIMALS.

PLEASE DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE WITH YOUR PRECIOUS ANIMALS!!!!! I took my dog of 10 years (who was like my first child) to this clinic because it was late at night when we had our emergency.

While I was trying to spend quality time with my dog in her last minutes of life an assistant kept trying to get me to sign a paper to have her put down (which wasn't necessary as she was already passing away). Then after I told the dr that I wanted her privately cremated and returned to me, my dog's info was changed from private to mass cremation. I called them everyday after to see when she would be returned to me until 2 weeks later they inform me that they had made a "mistake" and "mass cremated" her with a bunch of other dogs whose ashes were unwanted. I WAS AND STILL AM DEVASTATED! Then when I asked if I could have the number of the person who cremated them so I could ask if I could just have my dog and all of the unwanted dogs I was told that they don't even know his name, number of location! This is unacceptable. As a nurse, I know that there are checks and balances to ensure that this does not happen to someone's family member, so why aren't the policies and procedures the same for pets?

THERE ARE FAMILY TOO!!!! I have yet to recieve any explanation as so how or why this could happen!

My pet and I were treated very well here! I brought my dog in as a precaution after he got into some chocolate. Because he didn't eat enough for it to be considered toxic for his size and weight, they didn't charge me a penny, even though they did an examination.

I had to take my dog in for a ...

I had to take my dog in for a massively broken nail around 5pm on a Sunday. $140 and three bandages later, we left. The Dr was extremely rude the entire visit, complaining about it "being a long day." I asked if I could back with my dog and he said "No, there's too much going on." After she bled through her first two bandages they said they wanted to put her in a cage for an hour. We thought she would be calmer at home and decided to leave. As he carries her out of the back, he hits her head on the door and says "good luck keeping her quiet."

Do not go there.
