I used Main Street Car Wash regularly when I lived in Riverside--for 30+ years. (Before it was "Main Street Car Wash" it was "Foamy Car Wash.")

Now I live in Beaumont, but I still drive to Main Street Car Wash to get my car washed. I drive past several "Full Service" car washes and many, many drive-through places, for the best car wash I know of in Southern California, at a very reasonable price.

Main Street Car Wash ALWAYS does a terrific job. In addition to a very clean car, they meticulously do the wheels and chrome, and they make sure every darn bug is off the front license plate, as well as the hood, bumpers, etc.

And they always do a terrific job on the windows. Other places may clean your windows so they look okay--until you're driving into the sun. Then you see all the streaks.

But NOT SO with Main Street Car Wash. The windows are always great, whether you are driving into the sun or not.

The place is owned by a husband/wife team, and they are very friendly and personable. She runs the cash register, and he is usually out on the line, supervising, making sure the guys all do a good job, and answering any questions from their customers. They must treat their employees right, because some of them have been there for more than a decade.

There have been times when I have had tar or other hard-to-remove substances on the car, and they've always taken the time to get it off. Very occasionally I might have to point out something they missed, but that's rare. And when it happens, they clean it up quickly and cheerfully.

They do a good job vacuuming the inside too, and they'll do your trunk if you open it for them, otherwise they won't disturb it.

Plus with their discount program and Senior Specials (I'm 70 years old), you never have to pay full price.

I recently moved to the Rivers...

I recently moved to the Riverside area and as a first time customer, I dropped my car off to be washed and waxed at this car wash. I was told it would cost $80-$90 total I get a phone call an hour later saying they need to do a special procedure in order to wax it and it would then cost an extra $40.Which I would not have a problem with accept that I was never informed that this "special precedure" would even be a possibility. I was upset because with times being hard, i could not afford the procedure. If they had originally told me that IF a special procedure needed to be done first, it may cost more,I would not have taken my car to get done that day. During the phone conversation, the man then hung up on me which made me more upset. After that I went straight there to speak to a manger. Turns out it was the owner on the phone. He apparently doesnt like customers who are upset with his service because when i tried to speak to him about the situation He didnt even want to hear or talk to me. he put my keys on the counter and told me to take my car and get out. Do you really think this owner cares about his customers?
