Had our first problem with a head gasket made by Esco. We changed a leaky head gasket on a customers 5.9 Cummins in a 97 Dodge pick up. The gasket started to leak after just a few weeks. The gasket pulled from the metal backing and started to leak coolant, we pulled the head again and found the gasket problem. Esco sold us a second gasket and wanted to see the problem gasket. Esco said no warranty because they had never seen a bad gasket before on a 5.9 Cummins. The second gasket has worked fine now for a year. I have 31 years as a diesel mechanic, Cat and Cummins certified, small bore engine instructor for Caterpillar Inc., ASE certified Heavy Duty Truck Technician Master, Failure Analysis trained by Cat, I guess we will see them in court. They wouldnt even give us a gasket for free, or at cost or give us some kind of credit.
