Provided by YP.comUpon entering the Old Original Bookbinders, guests are greeted with a massive tank filled with some of the most gorgeous and colossal-sized lobsters around. I had the pleasure of seeing a waitress dig out one of these beasts that had to be at least ten pounds, place it on a silver platter, and carry it away to its imminent death - googly eyes, rubber band claws, and all. The large and beautifully designed bar area also greets you upon entering, but come on a busy evening and you will be filled with quite a collection of business men and a plethora of smoking cigars. Bartenders seem very experienced, as do the rest of the staff. Our waitress informed us that she had been employed there since opening day. Taking her years of experience into account, I ordered her recommendation - the special of the day. This dish consisted of a petite filet (immensely overcooked), smothered in tomatoes that tasted as though they had been poured out of a can. Fortunately, the brilliantly chosen wine (ice cold bottle of Conundrum) paired with the absolutely to die for desserts completed our evening. With Bookbinders’ ambiance hitting right on the mark, I was quite disappointed by the run of the mill entrées. The desserts, though, definitely make the trip worthwhile.
