He grew up on a dairy farm in the Hibbard area. He attended Ricks College and then completed his under graduate education at Utah State University. He considers himself fortunate to be able to receive his medical doctorate from the University of Utah in 1993. His surgical training was then obtained in Phoenix, Arizona.Brians interests outside of medicine include Gardening, Growing giant pumpkins (largest 1,071 pounds), hunting, fishing, and hiking.
