Dr. Melissa D. Macco received her Bachelor of Science in Biological Science and a minor in Psychology from the University of California, Davis. She completed her Doctor of Optometry at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California. Dr. Macco has been working in the Reno, Nevada area since 2019. She excels at primary eyecare, complicated contact lens fits (including multifocals and high astigmatism), pediatrics, myopia management, and medical care (including glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic eye exams). Before relocating to Reno she worked in a non-profit organization providing examinations to school aged children in low-income areas and at a private practice in the SF/Bay Area. In her free time, she enjoys volunteer work with the local Optometric Association, reading (she's always happy to have book recommendations from patients!), watching movies and shows, traveling, writing food reviews, and spending time with her husband, her mini Aussie (Ro), and her family. Dr. Macco, fluent in Spanish, is certified in the treatment and management of ocular disease and glaucoma certified in both California and Nevada.
