First and foremost, I highly doubt the veracity of the 5 star review . If I could give it a negative star value, it would be -5 stars!

I took an hour out of work to take the family to this local place for lunch. Since the place opened recently I waited a bit to allow the management to work out the kinks and fine tune the place because all new places need that. When I went there today I expected everything to be up to speed and that, since it's the new place around still, they would put their best foot forward.

Nothing prepared me for this terrible experience. The staff was incredibly slow and completely disorganized. After 45 minutes waiting for the food (and I was FUMING) the owner shows up with a million excuses offering to comp me the lunch... I don't need a free lunch and by that point I just handed him my corporate card told him to charge it and get our food to go. I am sorry but my time is worth a lot more than you can afford. Anyway, I insisted on paying while he told me that he was having the food bagged. I left leaving my wife in the place waiting for an additional 10-15 minutes for the food.

We are talking about 2 salads and 2 burgers... Medium well. The burgers are rare at best, my salad looks smaller than what most people give to children and you did not sealed the lid on the balsamic dressing... It went through the paper bag staining my tan car mats (those mats are $120.00 each!). The food ended up feeding our dogs. I paid over $50.00 for this and obviously he needs the money more than I do. HIRE STAFF!!! I will never step in there again.

Best of all, my wife looked at the receipt and while the "owner" told me that he was out of Sweet potato fries... guess what.... he charged me for it too.

Mind you, the food NEVER made it our table... he did not box it to go, it was never served to us.

So thrilled to have a nearby restaurant that isn't just burgers, wraps, and fries! Visited the Black Cat Grill, a quaint little place in the heart of Georgetown, with my family this past week. I had one of the specials: the sole with rice and vegetables. The waitress said the fish just came in that morning, and she wasn't kidding. It was very fresh and quite tasty. My husband raved about his meal, the Rachel (pastrami on rye). He was kind enough to give me a bite - I'd definitely go back to get that. My daughter is quite the finicky eater when she eats out with us, but she even wanted us to try her burger because it's flavor was so good. We're glad to find a place that she will eat something other than a grill cheese. Make sure your try the filet mignon tips wrapped in prosciutto. They'll melt in your mouth! We were very happy with our experience - friendly staff and great service - and plan to make this grill one of our regular eateries.
