Located in Hayden, Idaho, Northern Lakes Fire Protection District provides fire suppression and emergency services for a population of more than 30,000 people in an area of over 105 miles. The district responds to approximately 3,500 calls annually. It employs a fire chief, captains, lieutenants and firefighters. Northern Lakes Fire Protection District operates a training division that organizes fire suppression, auto extrication and space rescue classes and drills. It also provides public education, code enforcement and hazardous materials response services. The district provides paramedic service for the Rathdrum, Hayden, Hayden Lake, And Twin Lake Areas.
