It's a pretty apartment, but I've never seen any complex as disorganized as this. On average it takes two to six months to repair anything, even after multiple requests. Each time I called to check the status of a work order they would treat it like a brand new request... as if they had no idea what I was talking about. I'm lucky that my unit isn't infested with roaches but I've seen some that are... not just one or two but hundreds... and that is not an exaggeration.



I moved here instead of another complex because this one had a pool. This is the most disgusting pool I have ever seen. The filters are perpetually off "to save money" was the reason I was given. One dozen plus people in the pool every day sweating and wearing sunscreen (and kids... we know what you're doing...) the water shimmers with oil and it has only been open three days so far this season. The trees overhanging the pool are pretty but very stupid. Of course they're going to drop leaves and bugs in the water. And it's only open until 7pm, so if you work for a living you'll never get to use it.



If you pay extra for a unit with a washer and dryer, they will continue to charge you for a washer and dryer even when the appliances do not work... and they refuse to come and do the needed repairs. The thermostat is broken, my heating bill is much too high for this small apartment, there is a cigarette burn in my carpet now because of the maintenance staff which no longer works here (and I do NOT abide smoking inside my house even before I had quit nine years ago) they damaged the wall themselves and refuse to fix it, and the carpet tho minimally stained when I moved in... ugh. I used to tell my girls "shoes off at the door!" but now I have to yell at them for walking around barefoot. I first steam cleaned the carpet after living here about a month and I do it once or twice a month since and every time the water comes up black.... I can't imagine what the pad looks like beneath the carpet.



It's cheap. But with this not being the cheapest complex in Raleigh I expected something a little better than New Bern area apartments and thought I'd at least get my money's worth. Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. Tarheel just DOESN'T care. I get the feeling the girls in the office want to help but can't, the maintenance staff just doesn't care... or doesn't stick around for long. In either case, stay away from anything that is owned by The Tarheel Co. It's just not worth it.
