Poor service and recommendations

Post trauma, brought in my pet on a weekday. Requested a call regarding pet after they finished diagnostics. Never called, and when I arrived, very disorganized, visibly; rude, verbally, and forgot my pet was there. While I waited, worrying about my boy, I watched others, pets hauling staff up through the front, not well-controlled, towards cats in their carriers and dogs who were waiting quietly with their parents. A doctor was talking with other clients, shouting to be heard, and the couple looked confused. Utter chaos. No one paying any attention behind the desk. Once I had someone's attention after 10 minutes, they couldn't find the doctor or the record, and my pet hadn't had a single test/xray/blood draw yet after leaving him as requested first thing in the AM.

I arrived @ 3pm to get him. They did everything then, while a doctor came up to tell me inaccurate medical information. I requested to see my boy. I was warned he was still sedated some from the injectable drug(s) used before xray, which they didn't tell me they'd give. "Some" was an understatement. He'd been sedated many times before in his adult life, and no other health professional has ever brought my dog to me in THAT condition. Swaying, falling, eyes dilated, etc. My nervous and injured pet had to stay in the hospital since they said an appointment for his particular problem wasn't possible. He was there 8+ hours and they did NOTHING.

Then the doctor that came up recommended a medication at home that I had already tried and had failed to repair/heal the injury or relieve pain. I requested to see the xrays, as I've studied rads before. She couldn't even show me the joint's arthritis/ligament/meniscus changes, and inaccurately assessed changes/cells and recommended too little (meds and rest). This was a recurring injury and needed support/surgery. She was affronted that I asked to see the xrays, where others have always been engaging and eager to educate me.

I signed a release for the films, took them to an orthopedic vet, heard his opinion after he read everything she had written, and arranged surgery and rehab. I will NEVER return to Crossroads. As a pet owner, thus vet client, for over 12 years, I've encountered a variety of medicine and service, from country to inner city, primarily in the South, but when traveling also in the Fo

One strike alone, either poor service or poor medicine, would be plenty to turn me off. But both is just them pushing me out the door, eager to leave; if this is their goal as a business and a hospital they've succeeded.

If you care about your pet then DO NOT board him or her at Crossroads Vet Hospital. I cannot speak to the veterinary services but the boarding service is shockingly poor. They have lost my pet's belongings on several occasions (dog bowls, blankets, and bed) and the last two times I picked him up they lost his bed. This means a) I have to replace these items at at my own cost and b) he was sleeping on concrete instead of his bed or blanket (this happened on two occasions).

They told me it was my fault the items were lost since I shouldn't have left the items with them (like his bed) and that it is in their policy that you sign when you drop off your pet that they can lose your pet's belongings at no cost to them. However, when I asked to see the policy in writing, they couldn't find it and changed their story that it was more of an "assumed policy" that they will lose your pet's belongings. I was shocked they actually said this. Terrible terrible experiences and very rude office staff.

The doctors are good although sometimes they can have a pet for an entire day in a crate simply waiting for treatment, because they are just too busy. The staff is incredibly rude, disorganized and ignorant. They even give you "medical advice" or discard your concerns even though they don't have a clue of what they are talking about. I also phoned them in desperation when my beloved pet was dying and they couldn't have cared less, didn't bother to phone back (even though I phoned three times), and I have to get someone else to come home and give euthanasia. Quite shameful.

I would never go to another vet

The doctors at Crossroads are awesome! They are so loving and compassionate to my kitty ,who I love. My kitty was close to death when I got him and I took him to Crossroads where all the doctors and techs got together to discuss how to save him. Each doctor cared so much for him ,it was like he was the only kitty in the world, and to me he is.My kitty is one year old now and I can't imagine my life without him. He has brought me so much joy and happiness and I just love him so much. If it weren't for the dedicated, caring doctors and techs at Crossroads I wouldn't have him. Thank you so much for saving him.He is the love of my life. I would never go to another vet. I know for sure that the doctors at Crossroads do what they do because they love the animals as much as we do.

Great hospital!

A few years ago, I was looking for a new vet because I felt my previous vet was charging me too much and wasn't listening to my desires as a pet owner. A friend recommended I try Crossroads and I have been very happy with them! I've seen several different vets there and each one of them has been friendly, knowledgeable and attentive to not only my dogs' needs, but also my own. Sometimes I've had to wait a bit for my appointment, but when I'm seen, the vets take all the time they need to diagnose and treat my dogs. I've since moved further away from where I used to be so getting there takes longer, but it's well worth the drive. I would definitely recommend Crossroads to anybody looking for a new vet!

Amazing Dr's

I just moved to Cary from Florida and I am so thrilled this vet office is less than a mile away. My cat seemed to be having seizure like activity one morning and I called Crossroads Veterinary Hospital to see if I could see someone right away. The receptionist seemed very concerned and made room for me to come in as an emergency. I had to wait 15 minutes because no Dr's were there yet (7:45am). The front desk staff was so concerned about myself and my cat they offered me coffee or water and let me go to an exam room so I could wait quietly with my baby. At 8 am two Dr's came into my room and were so gentle and soothing. I was crying like crazy. They wanted to keep my cat for the day to monitor her while they did treatment. I was scared to be away from her so they offered me to do visitation throughout the day. By 2 pm my girl was back to herself and ready to go home. The Dr's spent so much time with me discussing possible reasons for her "attack". Ultimately we think it may have been a pest control spray I had used in my house the day before. I was so thankful for the attention my girl had while she was there and how soothing the staff was. People don't write enough about these type of experiences, just the negative. I hope Crossroads Veterinary Hospital and all the DVM's that worked with me know how spectacular their efforts were! I can't imagine taking her anywhere else.

Worth the drive!!!

I was recommended by a friend to go to crossroads because they have a large team of DVM's and my dog has multiple issues. Dr. Albright saw my boy and was able to get him the right blood work 3 other vet hospitals never had done. The next day she called me with the results at 8am. She asked if I could come in to get a medical program going for him. I feel my visit to crossroads bought more years to my boy's life and he is doing so well now after so many other vet's seemed to have me on the wrong path. This hospital is 45 minutes away, but I won't go anywhere else for my dog!

Our Dogs

Very Friendly to our pets and all services are price more reasonable than any other in the Cary area.

Never had any problems or concerns with the handling of our pets. We have been with the facility for

over 10 years now.

Eh, so so...

75% of the time the staff seems downright rude. For the most part they are never accomodating and never seem the least bit friendly.

needs improvement

We used to love coming to this vet but over the past 1 or so the service and the new doctors are not up to par. I think they have grown so big they forgot costumer service.
