Our mission Church was formed in late 1997 in Prescott Valley, Arizona where it celebrated its first Divine Liturgy at the Prescott Valley Public Library In May, 2000, we moved our services to the offices of Dr. George Rizk in Prescott. As our congregation grew, services were moved from Dr. Rizk's office to their lovely new home. Services began to be celebrated once a month on Thursday evenings. On a cold January 13th, 2001, held its first Divine Liturgy at the Monday Club in Prescott, which afforded much needed room for worship, storage, and kitchen.

Fr. Apostolos Hill has a great singing voice and his Mass is beautiful. St. George Church glitters with gold and beautiful icons, but its best attribute is the welcoming friendliness of its congregation toward two strangers -- my wife Becky and I. The assembly welcomed us with open arms and with kind, loving hearts. As we had coffee, salad and hot dogs after the Mass, we were signed up as members, as several friendly parishioners took time to get to know us. We are thankful to the fine father and great folks and St. George for making us feel at home. Also, we are old and disabled, so the air conditioning and soft chairs felt wonderfully comfortable to us. This is a great church, where God is present.

Wonderful Church

From the moment I stepped inside of this church, I felt right at home. The service was beautiful, steeped in old fashioned and ancient traditions. Everything is open and honest; there is no rock concert, no secrecy like in some churches. It is just good old fashioned Christian worship. The people welcomed me like a long lost family member. Despite being categorized as a mission under the Greek Orthodox umbrella, this church is composed of people from all different backgrounds and ethnicities. It's not all Greek! The services are in English so everyone can follow along and participate fully from start to finish. There is even a bountiful and delicious potluck lunch afterwards to which ALL visitors are invited. There is no members-only attitude in this church. The priest is accessible to all and is eager to answer any and all questions you have for him. Most of all, you are always invited to come back and I did. I have been going to this church ever since. I cannot imagine going anywhere else. Come and see for yourself. It's worth at least one visit. There is NO pressure to donate money or contribute anything. In this church, everyone is a member of the family and no one is an outsider. Few churches can say that. Have a blessed day.
