We are so fortunate to have found this school, which takes children as young as 12 months and the day (9 to 1) is long enough to allow parents some free time. Working in his classroom one day a week has taught me more about him and myself, in addition to allowing me to form close attachments to other children. The teachers are fantastic, as are the classrooms and outdoor play area. My son is learning such valuable lessons about friendships and socialization, some of which would be impossible to teach at home.

There is not a single Coop out there in the Portland area that compares with SWPCC! From the phenomenal teachers, to the extended hours (9-1 days) to give me some time to catch up on my life! My daughter has attended since she was 2 years old. (That is another thing. They have a one year old and two year old class, as well, as a pre-school class!) I waited 6 months on a waitlist to get in! She is in the pre-school class now (3-5 year olds.) To say she loves it is an understatement! She has learned by playing how to be a capable, independent member of her peer group. That would not have happened at home! I have found a wonderful group of parents and teachers. I look forward to being there on my shift day!

We have found a supportive family community for our children. My children are learning to be productive social beings and I am learning to be a better parent. Excellent teachers, wonderful families, and strong community for children.
