I had a car loan through them several year ago. I was young and naïve and didn't know much about buying a car on credit. So when the dealer told me who was underwriting the loan and the terms I didn't know any better. I lost my job a couple months later and called the company to let them know and to find out what I could do. They said they would work with me because I had a clause in my contract to cover loss or medical issues and they would defer my payments for a couple months. I signed the deferment paperwork (or so I thought). I contacted the company when the "period" was over to tell them I still could not afford the payments and that I wanted to surrender the car. That night they had a repo many show up and take the car. He damaged so much property in the RV park I lived in threated to SUE Reliable and the repo man. I was turning the car over to the company the next morning and had already had it arranged so why send a repo man? At that they took my infant son's car seat which was the only one I had at the time so I didn't even have a chance to transport him so I could get the remaining items from the car. When I did get there so much of my personal stuff was missing including my son's car sear and diaper day.(That is the repo company not reliable) but with that being said a shady company works with other shady business. This is why when we bought a car a couple months and they said they were using this company we took out 3000 deposit and out trade in and walked away. This company needs to be careful of what they do and say. Especially when working consumers. There is also something in front of Washington state courts I read that will stop them from being allowed to underwrite anything for a Washington resident. Don't know if that is still going on but I agree with people RUN!

I was in a chapter 13 bk, and ...

I was in a chapter 13 bk, and my car broke down. Reliable Credit trusted me for an auto loan when nobody else would. I've since paid off the loan, and plan to go back to them in October for a better car. They helped me, so I'm loyal to them. Sure rates are high...what do you expect? If your car breaks down, it's not the lenders fault, so why would you stop making the payments you agreed to? Late payments are broken promises, that you made! Make your payments on time, or early, and keep the required insurance up to date, like responsible folks, and you won't have a problem ! Thanks Reliable, I'll be back!! Mike in Rockaway

Worst Bank to finance a car

I purchased my car and have made every payment on time since I bought it. I recently have been without a job and asked them to work with me for the next two months until I got my income tax. They plain flat out refused. I've put over $4000 into my car in the last 10 months and now I lost it. Great finance company if you have bad credit or don't anticipate having any income problems but watch out if you do. I will never get a car financed by them again.

Unfortunately when a customer is unable to make payments on an account, & has no realistic way of doing so with in a reasonable length of time, the only course of action a financial institution can do is to reposses its security. Repossion is always a last resort.
