No longer open

I think this school has closed its doors due to the 2007-2008 economy collapse, I went to this school there and graduated in 2006 and I am very successful in the construction industry. I think some of the issues in the other reviews are close to accurate, the school was very light on the management end of the education but was more than enough to get me feet in the door with a concrete contractor where I learned even more actual experience. I now make about 80k a year as a cost estimator & project manager for a General Contractor in the Eugene, OR. area, It's not a PMP degree from OS but after 9 years I think it was a good choice and I'm thankful I went to NWTI. Thank you Lonnie.

"Z_Critique" Has it right: Stay away from ANYTHING associated with Robert G. Earle

The review by Z_Critique is exactly right. This school advertised that you would learn Project Management and Cost Estimating. They do teach Cost Estimating, but the only Project Management training you receive is whenever Robert G. Earle (owner of the school) decides to drop in the classroom for a few moments and very informally talk about himself and basically just chit-chat about his experience in the construction industry. This is NOT Project Management training. BEWARE!

BEWARE! BEWARE! BEWARE!

Northwest Technical Institute is as close to an insurance scam as you can get, while still maintaining legality. It was designed from the ground up to cater to its #1 customer, Oregon Workers Comp. Workers Comp is able to remove the injured worker from its books, the school receives payment, your vocational rehabilitation counselor receives their kick back for referring you to the school.

Everyone benefits right?

Everyone that is, except for the displaced worker who was just handed a worthless bill of goods.

The curriculum is extremely outdated. The Instructors are previous students with questionable real world working experience. Plus none of the "training" is transferable to a real University.

This is just one more, of the many industries that prey upon the honest injured and/or displaced working man.

Beware. Do your homework and avoid this charade of a technical institute.
