We did some targeted searching, and we all including my mom thought this place was best. Mom didn't like the really big places because it was too much like living in a hotel or an airport. Some of the reasonable places were too "corporate," sometimes only recently. Laurelhurst House is owned and run by people who know are actually there all the time. They can make decisions about their facility without having to meet a nationalized corporate image. The room is beautiful and mom loves it there. She feels safe and comfortable. They have a special room on her floor for "sanctuary" or contemplation or personal prayer. They have activities, classes and trips but with no pressure to participate. She has her own assigned seat in the dining room and always has the same people at her table so they get to know each other. It's the best place especially for people who are "in-between" and need help but have some independent mobility. She gets her bath, laundry, regular and really GOOD meals, spec
