Born and raised in a small town in Southeastern New Mexico, Dr. Jeana Summers attended Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri and then pursued medical school at Des Moines University in Des Moines, Iowa. She moved to Oklahoma City to complete her residency in orthopedic surgery, where she also met her wonderful husband. Following her desire to specialize in pediatric orthopedics, they moved to Phoenix, Arizona for a year to complete subspecialty training at Phoenix Children's Hospital. All these adventures led her and her family to the Pacific Northwest to join the excellent providers at Orthopedic + Fracture Specialists and call Portland her forever home! Approaching the patient holistically, as a whole unit, is key to Dr. Summers’ practice. Her training as an osteopathic physician has helped instill in her this holistic approach and has awarded her additional musculoskeletal training in osteopathic manipulation. Dr. Summers enjoys meeting patients, discussing their goals, and helping them achieve optimal success. Dr. Summers has special interest in pediatric sports injuries, spinal deformities, hip preservation, fractures, and lower extremity issues, including clubfoot. She is looking forward to serving the pediatric population of Portland for their orthopedic needs.
