Gartner My meat market of choice

I visited Gartner's for the first time last Saturday, and the place was thronged- at least 75 people, I needed to take a number. I was stunned at the speed with which I was served, asked several stupid questions regarding game meat availability, marveled at the selection, and was treated with extreme courtesy and patience by one of the staff. I purchased a beautifully-aged NY steak, a pound of beef bacon, a pound of beef beer sausage, a couple of pepperoni sticks, and a dry bean soup mix. The steak was the best I've eaten since raising my own cows in northern California as a kid on a farm, the pepperoni sticks were tasty and fresh, the bacon received rave reviews, all prices were competitive. The only butcher shops I've seen that bore slight resemblance were the neighbourhood butchers in Australia (where they still exist). Thank you, I will be back. Terrific on all counts.

I've been going here for years for their marinated ribs. I live about 90 miles from Portland and they are worth the drive!!
