They have a nice Happy Hour. The food and drinks are both good.

Great place, with delicious food, and service is hit or miss---most of the time service is fine--never great.

I have been to both dinner and happy hour at Dragonfish a few times now, and have had good experiences each time. The atmosphere in the restaurant is casual/dressy (typical Portland), and the bar area, which is separated by the lobby of the Paramount Hotel, is casual. I clearly feel the asian mystique in the restaurant side, which makes it a nice place to go for a nice dinner. The bar, though, is where you find the absolute best value during happy hour. It is generally busy, and it is often difficult to get a seat during happy hour, but it is worth being tenacious. The food is quite good, but it is the prices and services that are exceptional. Unfortunately you can only order 6 appetizers per person, but honestly, coupled with a couple of drinks, it is sufficient. There is sushi as well as cooked items on the happy hour menu. And the staff in the bar is extraordinarily efficient even given the crowds. It is as if they have eyes in the sides and back of their heads, and they deftly wait on multiple people simultaneously. I've never had my order mixed up either. If you want a seat at happy hour, get there as close to 4 as you can. People tend to stay. I do. And I will certainly return, as I think this is one of the best happy hour values in Portland.

This place has the best sushi, happy hour and service. The kitchen is open so you know what you get. The prices are very reasonable for GOOD sushi. If you want a great place to start your evening (4-6pm for happy hour), I would definately check this place out. My girlfriends and I make a habit of visiting here quite often and no one has complained so far!

I did not try the food in the restaurant, I went to the happy hour. The selection was about to be expected, given the price tags. The sushi was good, but it didn't stick out as anything special. Some of the other dishes I saw them prepare looked pretty good. The ambience of the Portland store feels like a concept restaurant. I was expecting something more authentic, given that they only have two stores in the chain. $16 for 3 sushi rolls, 2 pieces sushi and a drink, however, isn't too bad.

The Dragonfish has a very sophisticated ambiance. Their food is superb. I have never eaten anything their that I did not like.
