Cherry Sprout Produce Market We are a locally owned and inspired neighborhood market dedicated to serving the community of North Portland since 2007. We offer great deals on seasonal and local produce, soul food staples, natural groceries, bulk foods, beer, wine and more. Our goal is to provide you with fresh, healthy food at affordable prices. We source from local farms and processors whenever possible, so by shopping at Cherry Sprout, you are supporting the local economy and the welfare of small family farms and businesses. Our success is measured by the health and happiness of our community! Our Story Cherry Sprout Produce was born from Big City Produce. Big City Produce operated in the same location for 11 years with the mission of serving the produce needs of North Portlands African American community. When Hugh Gray of Big City Produce decided to go out of business in late 2007, two long-time employees stepped in to keep this community business healthy & strong. Knowing the importance of a neighborhood store, we strive to keep the spirit of Big City going. Cherry Sprout provides soul food staples and a wide selection of local greens whenever possible while simultaneously striving to satisfy the needs of our new neighborhood shoppers. We are keeping a neighborhood staple alive and well, bringing you fresh healthy affordable foods, and providing a welcoming environment for art, music, and community events.
