Birds Chimney service came to my home to clean my chimney in September 2009, While they were cleaning my chimney they said that the cap to the clean-out was no longer any good and that it should be replaced. We agreed to the replacement.In December, we had a chimney fire, but could not cut off the draft to the fire because the clean-out cap allowed the fire to back draft through the new cap that Birds installed. Clackamas Fire had to come and remedy the situation. I hope that this is an isolated incident, but it makes me say use with caution
