"Quite possibly the World's Finest Chocolate!"

Want to relax and treat yourself? Give yourself permission to leave the hustle, bustle, and busy-ness of the big city behind for 2 hours. Take this easy 25-30 minute drive north up to Port Washington. Stop at the Chisel and purchase some mouth-watering high quality artisan chocolates to go. Outside the Chisel's door, turn right and walk 2 blocks to Rotary Park. Find a bench to sit, facing Lake Michigan. The breezes will refresh your senses as you admire the big blue lake. Breathe in the fresh air and watch the rhythm of the waves as you slowly savor every chocolate bite. When you head for home, you will feel nourished and refreshed with a zest to take on the big city life once again.

Driving Directions: Drive North on I-43. Take the first exit for Port Washington, Hwy. 32 (Spring St. when in Port), which will take you due north through the countryside, until you arrive in Port Washington. At the stop-and-go light intersection of Spring St. and Grand Ave. Take a right (east) on Grand Ave. You can see Lake Michigan as you drive down the hill towards downtown. Two blocks before Lake Michigan, you will see The Chocolate Chisel (125 W. Grand Ave.) on the right hand (south side) of the street.

Hours: The Chocolate Chisel is open 7 days a week, from 10 am to 9 pm in the winter and 10am-10pm in the summer.

Offerings: 30 or more artisan truffles to choose from made here in The Chocolate Chisel Kitchen. With flavors ranging from a natural orange in dark chocolate to the peanutbutter twirls with a creamy peanut butter center. Dark chocolate with chipotle is a surprising taste bud pleaser. All of these truffles have a melt-in-your-mouth ganache centers blended with the purest natural flavors. There are sea salt caramels in milk or dark. Pecan or cashew turtles, buttery English toffee dipped in milk or dark, and a huge variety of chocolate barks. The nut clusters are delicious and the specialty chocolate bars are sculpted by the owners. Cookies and Creme dipped in chocolate are a favorite as are the chocolate dipped pretzels. Candied orange peel and candied ginger dipped in dark chocolate are customer favorites.

Serving The Amazing Ice Cream Co.ice cream: Come on in and have a scoop of the most delicious ice cream you have ever tasted. Made in house, with minimal ingredients, no preservatives and natural flavors.

Explore Port: There are many little shops that are fun to visit in Port. You can cross the street and visit the Java Dock coffee and sandwiches, Want to stay for dinner? There are two restaurants within 1/2 block of the Chisel.Clothing stores, gift stores, art galleries, a bike shop and much more. Stay for an afternoon or a day. There is plenty to do and enjoy.

Very comfortable atmosphere. Beautiful decorations for every holiday and season. Amazing ice cream, especially with a chocolate dipped waffle cone :) And the chocolate is to die for! I have always been a Ghirardelli, dark chocolate person. But, since I've tried The Chocolate Chisel's dark, I will never buy another piece of Ghirardelli again.

I highly recommended visiting "The Chisel" if you're a visitor or local.

The Chocolate Chisel in Port W...

The Chocolate Chisel in Port Washington is all about the beauty and quality of their chocolates! The truffles are true works of art, both visually and to your palate. We stopped on our way to Door County, and were so impressed, that we stopped on the way home for more goodies! Both my husband and I are chocolate snobs, and we were both impressed. We will be back. Oh...can't forget to mention how friendly and helpful the staff were, you can tell they love working at the "Chisel".

I don't normally like truffles at all, and I'm pretty ambivalent about chocolate in general (I know, I'm a weirdo), but the truffles here are delicious! I love the fruit flavors like raspberry and lemon, and the dark chocolate they have isn't bitter. Whenever I'm having a romantic night with my boyfriend, I like to pick up a bunch of truffles here.

wonderful experience all around

The chocolates are tiny works of art and masterpieces of flavor! The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. I have been here seberal times, and have never had a bad experience. The owners are almost always there to personally greet you and are ready to answer any questions and are always open to suggestions for new flavors, etc. they even have Sassy Cow ice cream! Delish! This is a wonderly friendly local business with great potential for a "must stop" when visiting and a "must frequent" for locals.
