Party like it's 1999... Litterly... I don't think this Red Roof has had any updates since then. The advertisment we recieved said "Flat screen TV's in every room", a 24" CRT is not a flat screen. Only had about 12 channels to watch. No in room check out option. The "continental" breakfast was a joke. Cold cereal, Cold bagels, Hot waffles but tasteless. We expeceted to save some money on breakfast. Instead we went across the street and got Chick-fil-a. I could have spent that money for a better hotel instead. Also this is the first time I've ever stayed in a hotel with wood floors. Not expensive hard woods, but just wood. We could see where the carpet had been torn out as there was little pieces of it under the dresser. I understand this is a pet friendly and it's easier to clean up after a dog if there is no carpet on the floor. But we did not have pets. One of the near by rooms had a dog that barked loudly when someone walked down the hall. Great way to be woken up at 4am. and it nearly scared my 7 year old to death There was a fridge and a microwave, that was nice touch, but the freezer was filthy and needed to be defrosted and the fridge was off ballance and looked like a previous guest placed half a bar of soap under one of the supports to keep it from wobbling. Finally this hotel in near the airport, so I would expect to hear a plane every now and then. However there is a US Air Force fighter wing stationed there and we had fighter jets buzzing the area starting at 7:00am. Great thing to wake up to. If I ever come back to the Savannaha / Pooler area, I will be staying at one of the newer hotels just down the street.

used to be decent but going downhill

i have been staying in this hotel with my husband and son for a few months now and its just getting worse. the staff is very friendly but maybe some are too friendly. they are always touching my 1 year olds face and hands when they see him in the hall and they are cleaning the rooms with no gloves on. i want to say something but i don't want to be rude but its getting very hard not to. we have to go out of the way just to ignore them and end up on the other end of the hotel so they don't see him. and its kind of weird when the owner asks my little boy if he wants to come up to his room, is he some kind of sicko. i also put the do not disturb sign out on the door but yet the housekeepers still knock everyday and i think they knock because they want to see my son. my husband has a motorcycle so he asked if he could park it under the roof where 2 other bikes had been parking but they told him that they aren't supposed to park under there and they are going to ask those guys not to park there so for about a week or 2 they weren't there but now there are 2 more bikes parking there again. we stay here for my husbands work and they pay for the room so its not that easy to just get another hotel or we would but i suggest that if you are looking for a room go to 1 of the other hotels around here. my husbands co workers are also unhappy here they hardly ever get there rooms cleaned and they go to the front desk to ask what the problem is and 1 lady always gives them a hard time. they don't clean my room everyday because i don't let them in because i hide out with my son from them but usually once every week or even 2 weeks i'll ask them to clean the whole room and they usually say today is only garbage and towels day for your room. and lately they have been testing the fire alarm and its a random thing so you don't know whether to ignore it or run for Your life its so loud its just becoming irritating. i wish they would post the time and day of the week they plan on doing the test. i just want out of this hotel!
