I truly love LIFE Center For Independent Living! They help people with all kinds of disabilities live better, happier, more independent and successful lives. I have volunteered at the Center since '03. Some of their services include: American Sign Language classes; LIP (Legislative Internship Project) classes in the spring, where you learn about disabilities and politics and how they can be enmeshed; A superb place to volunteer; Accessibility devices and issues are handled; Interpreter services are available; Advocacy for people with disabilities. There is no gossip, spite, arrogance, judgment or shame at the Center, and it's cozy. Everyone will respect you, and sincerely take an interest in you. Your disability needs will be taken seriously with an unsurpassed professionalism. It's a thriving, dapper, assiduous workplace where you can talk, laugh, learn, share, and change your life! So what kind of people will you meet there? Content, honest, noble and compassionate people.
