Don't go there. Mom just died ...

Don't go there. Mom just died a very painful death there with little being done by hospice or staff. She begged for help for several awful days and we had to intervene. Many issues including missing clothing, missing all shoes and slippers, missing afghan often, lost bedspread never to return, wearing other people's clothing, found in bed soiled after 14 hours, feces on mattress, bed not made, dirty odorous sheets left in room smelling, toilet rocks, no towels often, broken toilet paper roller, lost dentures $$$, stolen coat, wanting her in dementia care after 2 weeks seemingly because I complained of poor care, head nurse is RN and doesn't know meds or signs of pain--calling it psychological. Same person isn't particularly diplomatic with patient's family. Doesn't tell it like it is giving solid reasons to family members. Complaints by family improved a few things, but not so much. Initial price quoted as $2,000-3,000. It was costing $5,00-6,000. Patient care not documented individually so family not allowed to see it due to privacy. They do individual medical plans supposedly, but no sharing with family. Denying my right to being called as a medical advocate/power of attorney until I told them they had better talk to their lawyer. When she died she was left in bed a long time before we were called. She was barely warm. When evaluated by state they were told there were no clients that wanted to meet with them regarding care. One client knew the person doing the ratings and said she knew there were at least 10 people that would stand in line to rate them. It's called assisted living, but most clients are multiply impaired. When compared with what my friend's parents had at another facility, you don't want this.

We like sunrise. But VERY expensive

My mother in law has been a resident for 2 years and we think Sunrise is a very nice place. It is much more expensive than some others in the area. We like it because it is smaller. We think the care and staff are fine.

run away from this place!

this senior residence is the worst I have ever seen, the staff is so unprofessional, the people that live there neglected, the person responcible is the director patrica mctaggert, she either cant see whats going on or does not care,I believe the latter, believe me DONT take your loved one here ever!! its horrible. to improve this . train staff better, fire mrs taggert, clean house totally and require staff have drug screening, even staff in the main office.
