Provided by YP.comDr. Brown, the owner of the veterinary hospital, is beyond unprofessional. She talks poorly about clients who stand up for themselves and their pets to other staff members and family members. When staff members side with the patience’s opinions, they are wrongfully fired!
On the day of my dog’s multi-thousand dollar surgery, which had been booked for over a week, she gave me the ring around about why it couldn’t be performed that day. Her medical opinion contradicted two other surgeons from the same practice. She failed to have the proper medical equipment and supplies on hand to preform my dog surgery when she had ample time to get the necessary materials.
I have taken my five thousand dollar medical procedure elsewhere and was told that the first two surgeons were correct and that Dr. Brown’s medical opinions were incorrect. I guess 20 years of veterinary experience cant buy much except a bad reputation. Hickory will no only get a cent of my money and will never get a good review from anyone in my family.
Treat people the way you want to be treat…something that the owner of Hickory clearly does not value and follow through with.

Provided by YP.comI called and was quoted $120 for an office visit... plus meds/treatments. I went elsewhere and got evaluation and treatment, including two medications and a thorough explanation of my dog's condition, for $68. She is doing fine now.
Way expensive - shop around.

Provided by YP.comI would tell him not to use this hospital. At the time that I went to use their emergency services, there was no specific place set aside to receive emergency cases. I found myself standing in the cashiers line in back of a person who was questioning the details of their bill along with the type of medication that had been prescribed. I had no choice but to ask another client there and then just wait with my sick pet. Then I was asked to wait again in another cramped area. It was extremely unnerving. I agree that there was a lack of connection with the receiving vet, who seemed detached and didn't have much to say except to ask a few questions and suggest more tests. My pet did not make it. I had to pay a bill while still reeling from the shock of the entire incident. There are more details but I would never return there nor recommend Hickory.

Provided by YP.comTake your animals elsewhere. I just moved here and sadly, made the mistake of boarding my dog here. She is NOW very ill after boarding ( bloody diarrhea and lethargy) $2,000+ later, no answers and vets seem disinterested in trying to resolve issue. They did not seem to have any type of treatment plan, and appeared to "wing it" and kept trying to order more and more tests--all inconclusive. I finally said enough, after my dog had a blood work up and the following week, the vet suggested, yet again, the same work-up. There is no continuity of care and they really don't seem to care about costs to owners or quality of life for my dog.
