Special Olympics Northern California supports year-round athletic training and competition programs for children and adults with developmental disabilities in Northern California. It organizes the Cingular Celebrity Winterfest, an athletic program that provides an opportunity for company team building, client development and head-to-head competitions between participating companies. More than 15 companies buy a team slot for over seven employees, clients and vendors and their guests. These team members are randomly paired with a Special Olympics intermediate Alpine ski athlete and a celebrity from various television shows or movies. This team competes against the other teams in a giant slalom race at Heavenly Lake, Calif. The guests enjoy all Winterfest events and the slopes at Heavenly Lake, while the racers compete. Special Olympics Northern California is located in Pleasant Hill, Calif.
