It's hard when you move to a state or area and you know hardly anyone, much less you know you have to find a physician right? Even harder still is the fact that you are trained in health care delivery and so therefore your looking for just the "right kind of physician" you want or need. What I am trying to say here is, when I was employed in health care I was not so much cognizant of how I treated my patients and how I came across to them until " I had to find a physician for myself".This opened up a whole new scenario for me. Looking at it from a patient viewpoint rather than a health care giver.



Fortunately or unfortunately I was injured and decided to seek out a doctor from the local newspaper advertisement for Orthopedic and Osteopathic treatment. While I was being treated in this establishment, it was suggested to me to get myself a local physician. I asked " who do you suggest"? a name was given to me, and I went on with my treatment until it was finished approximately 6 weeks. I went about my business and forgot the name until it was time for my husband to see his former doctor, which was way too far to travel. I therefore decided I would look for the name that was referred to me and see if I could get an appointment with this physician for my husband. I will be honest and tell you I had already gone to someone else, whom I chose, and I have to say, was not at all impressed with. Anyways, I went with my husband to Dr Iskander, (got an appointment immediately when I stressed the importance of it).. I did not instantly acknowledge my past history as anyone affiliated in the health field but listened to the physicians questions directed toward my husband, his mannerisms, the way he responded to my questions, his patience, his sense of humour, his degree of simplicity, as well as his level of intelligence, and overall personality traits he displayed while we were with him. I also was aware of the time he took explaining things as they were asked, and his attitude toward me whenever I would interject or have something to say. Remember here, I am not the patient.



Dr Iskander renewed my faith in the medical health care system again!! I was so thrilled at the end of the visit. He was so courteous and friendly and seemed to genuinely enjoy his visit with my husband and me. He showed all the traits of a true professional giving genuine concern, advice, education, and a complete head to toe examination of my husband. I was impressed. I have visited physicians who don't even touch you during the whole visit.

When visiting a physician I expect his attention, I want a caring attitude, pleasant, friendly, professional, courteous and compassionate person. I can truly say, (" I want and get my money"s worth, regardless of how much I am paying ,or insurance is paying") Dr Iskander to me is truly an excellent physician and I would recommend him to anyone. I have taken the time to write this because so much of us do not make the public aware of when we come across someone we really appreciate. I felt it was worth the time to do this for a fine physician. I hope anyone who has read this will not be too harshly judemental on my writing capabilities,,,,,,(laugh). Thanks for reading.
