I called Amerigas around the first week in January 2017. The price quoted to to me for propane was 3.50 per gallon. A 500 gallon tank is filled 80% or around 400 gallons. At that price a tank fill would cost upwards of $1400.00 dollars. Everyone told me that was total bs. I called three competitors and got prices of 2.79, 2.19 and 1.79. Big difference. They have done this to me every year for 17 years. Usually I will tell them the competitors price and they will match it. It started all those years ago with about a 100.00 gouge. This has grown to about a 600.00 gouge. Why would you stick it to a 17 year customer and act like you are doing me a favor. I'm in process of switching companies. They are giving me free set up and a price lock at a maximum of 2.19 per gallon. Amerigas never inspected their tank, except three times when it totally ran dry.. This tank was never painted or the regulator replaced. How they stay in business ill never know. Highest price for propane of any company every year for 17 years running.
