Was seated presented with a filthy menu. Waited 5 min for drink order and returned with cold chips in a unlined plastic container. A pepsi for my date and water for me. Manny turned his back and stated I will be back for your order. We were ready but he did not return after 20 min in an unbusy restaurant I got up left and he chased us down in the parking lot I need you to pay for your pepsi. He had no interest in us until that moment. He then said I have your plate and will be calling the police. The place was not very full or busy for a Friday evening every customer means something. The place was unkept and not maintain. Glad I did not eat here after all. Customer service worse. The national chain won out over another sad local restaurant experience in Phoenix.
Foods here are just so good.
I come here because its a block away from my home but they lost my service after today. I'm tired of waiting 40+ min for take out and ny orders never being corrected. Oh and if you complain they will tell you to bring the food back with no sorry for the inconvenience here's something to make.up for the extra trip no instead you get stuck w rude employees and have to wait another 30 min for your corrected meal. Also who schedules reconstruction during your lunch rush?? Seriously I wouldn't waste your time or money, you can get better service at filibertos!!!
Attended a Valentine's dance at Sylvia's restaurant and it was awful. I have never seen a "manager" of a restaurant be so rude to her customers. She yelled at a group of people and asked them to move from their seats to accommodate her friends!!! This woman is in the wrong business..
MORE LIKE MICHAEL MEYERS ON FRIDAY THE 13TH........my boyfriend and i met at Mateos 8 months AGO, so we wanted to spend our first "Valentines Day" there...my boyfriend called a week in advance to make reservations. He stopped the day before our reservations to make sure we were good to go!! The beginning of a NIGHTMARE!!! NO RESERVATIONS WERE ON THE BOOKS FOR US...they wrote OUR names down AGAIN!! According to the flyer $25.00 would get 2 glasses of champagne, raffle ticket and a rose for your special someone and the cover charge...ONCE AGAIN FREDDIE KRUGER.....we were told NO RAFFLE TICKET AND NO ROSE!! per the young lady at the counter Sylvia told her " if they don't ask don't mention the roses and changed her mind about giving out FREE RAFFLE TICKETS"!! I THEN HAD TO SPEAK TO SYLVIA AND ACCORDING TO HER "MIS COMMUNICATION" THE YOUNG LADY WORKING AT ENTRANCE MUST HAD MISUNDERSTOOD HER!!! YEA RIGHT......we did stay AND sat where we wanted to....ohhhh but again the drink speci
WOW!!What a terrible experience!Owner Sylvia was at the front counter litterally screaming obcenities at her employees!Said loudly they were all stealing from her!!Some of the employees were litterally bawling!Why would they work there other then the fact they have no other chioce(illegal)!I walked out as I lost my appetite.
Waited for 10 minutes for server to come to table, got my order wrong two times and owner was very rude when we complained about the situation - will never go back
At first it was ok, nothing special but we wanted to try this restaurant as we live around the corner. We were given a gift certificate and decided to use it. We didn�t purchase the entire amount and were told their policy is not to refund the difference. The certificate says nothing about that policy and we were offered to use the difference to purchase something to go. We had finished our meals and did not want to spend money on something we didn�t want over 1.83. I very politely told the Manager that I felt I was being ripped of and told her we will not be coming back, she said OK. Nice restaurant? Go somewhere else with arrogant customer service your better off. There is nothing special about this place
Very good Mexican food at a long time neighborhood restaurant.
It is always a joy to start a weekend morning off at Sylvia's. Their huevos rancheros is the best.
This restaurant always has good food and great margaritas. Great place for the family or to meet your friends.
