We are a small non-profit that gives cars to single moms in need. We bought an engine from JDM, but the sold us the wrong engine for our car. We exchanged it a week later for the correct engine, installed it, and found out it was bad. We took it to John Jay Automotive and they confirmed the engine was bad. We took it back to JDM a week after purchasing it. They told us to take the engine to a machine shop and get a quote. The machine shop said the engine wasn't buildable. We called JDM to return it and he said to wait for 2 weeks and we could exchange it for another one that was coming in. In 2 weeks we called and he said shipment was delayed and to call back in a couple of weeks and see if the replacement engine was in. We did this several times (waiting 2 weeks or more each time) until we called and he finally said he had one in. He then said it was going to cost us an additional $300 for the replacement engine! When i got to the shop to exchange it he immediately looked at my receipt and said you are out of your warranty period! Are you kidding me. You told me to wait and wait and wait and then you were going to charge me more for an exchange. The guy knew exactly what he was doing by telling us not to bring it back several times until he knew our warranty was up and then all of the sudden he had an engine in. Now our small non profit is suppose to lose $1,200+ because they sold us a bad engine and we did what the shop told us to do. We brought the engine back a week after purchasing it and JDM told us not to return it at that time!
