I lost all my childrens first pictures on a damaged external. My oldest daughter dropped my external off my desk twice, I died. It held thousands of their very first images & births. It held my childhood images,family holidays, birthdays, dance recitals & family memebres we have since lost. This external was from 2001. Back then they didn't offer many hard drive repair options. I did all the emergency software options available, nothing worked. Over the years I took it to specialist and no one could help me. A few years ago I was told I needed to try a clean room. I was quoted $1000 to start. I saved& finally started researching options again. I was quoted $1300 to send to the FBI clean room from someone in Phoenix- they didn't even look at it. I don't know how Nicky did it, but I do know she is a gift from God. She saved everything to a new external & the cost was only a fraction of the quotes from other companies.
