The City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program is a public art project that works in partnerships with communities, city agencies, schools, and grassroots and philanthropic organizations. The program focuses on the development of sustainable partnerships with community organizations in order to create murals that reflect the community's culture, history and vision. The City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program aims at fostering youth development through experiential art education and mentorship with professional artists. It creates more than 100 community murals annually by engaging residents in the mural-making process. The City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program provides free art education programs to over 2,000 at-risk youths every year at neighborhood sites throughout Philadelphia in Pennsylvania.
