I had Pop-A-Lid come out last minute because I had a lot of water standing in my yard. I had no idea where the septic was and they told me not to worry that they would be out and take care of everything. Digging was an additional charge but not like taking an arm or leg, plus it was like 2 feet below ground. When the located it they asked if I wanted to see. Scared I said yes, I should have just said no... But this being my first time they kept me informed and let me know what I could do to make sure this doesn’t happen again. I couldn’t be happier with my experience with them. Everyone was super friendly, the lady in the office to the gentlemen who came out. I will definitely be giving them a call again in a few years. They told me one thing that is very true “Not a lot of people pay attention to their septic, but it is one of the most important and EXPENSIVE appliance to replace!” Thank you once again Pop-A-Lid for being great and for saving me!

Alex came to fix our sewer pump. I didn't ask him to give me an estimate and had him do the work. He spent 15 hours on this job. He figured out the pump isn't broken. He also ran the camera to pull out some roots in the sewer line. He charged me over $2000 for his 15 hours work. I was very upset his expensive charge and regret I didn't ask the estimate beforehand.

If you want to hire him, make sure you get the estimate. I won't recommend him to do the pump repairs since I don't think he is very experienced.

Alex, the owner of Pop-A- Lid,...

Alex, the owner of Pop-A- Lid, was prompt, came out within an hour after being called, professional, and courteous. He pumped our septic tank for less than what another company quoted us and gave us good advice of how to maintain our septic tank. We also had a clog from our toliet to the septic and he instructed us how to take care of the problem ourselves if we wanted to save money (he was also happy to take care of it himself if we wanted). We followed his advice, unclogged it ourselves, and it is working perfectly! We are very happy with his service and would definately recommend him to anyone needing a septic company.

Our 6-year old conventional septic tank had never been pumped. because we were unable to locate the access points. Another company had charged us $75 to dig holes all over our yard, never finding anything. PopALid assured me they would find the entry and they did using a camera snake and transmitter. Sadly it was 4 feet underground. Even though the owner warned us this would be too much to dig by hand, he help us dig for 2 hours. We finally found the lid, but we still had a long way to go. We rented a backhoe and the owner returned on Sunday to finish the job. Outstanding Service! Hard working and Honest! Owner went above and beyond!

If You Want It Fixed the First Time

I have a 15-year-old septic system that needed service. Over the past few years we've had a couple of pumps burn out and leaks develop around the septic field valve area. After a couple of different companies failed to fix the leaks, my neighbor recommended Pop-A-Lid.

The owner of the company is a hard-working, honest, intelligent man named Alex. Alex fixed the leaks. And then went further to explain the source of the problem. Our septic field was plugged up with sludge and needed to be flushed. Alex provided a reasonable quote and started the work. As the work progressed, he discovered numerous problems with our pump and field installation.

He carefully explained what was wrong and how to fix it. Past leaks were fixed with rubber gaskets unable to hold up to the pressure, metal valves below ground should be plastic to withstand deterioration, pump tank had 4 inches of sludge that needed to be pumped out -- it was causing sludge build-up in field lines, no filter on pump tank to prevent sludge from entering in the first place, septic field lateral lines had no upturned screw caps, one lateral line was disconnected presumably during another plumber's "fix", and another lateral line was originally installed with a large percolation hole causing another leak.

Alex fixed it all at a reasonable price. Folks, he is the real deal. It's rare that you find someone who is willing to put in an honest day's work. Most businesses seem be in it for the fast buck. Not this business.

If you have a plumbing problem and want it fixed the first time, I strongly recommend Pop-A-Lid. They earn your business.

Great service - very honest

We called Pop-A-Lid this morning with an issue with our septic tank. My belief was that we had a blockage in the line to the septic tank. When Alex got here, I explained the situation and he told me it could be that or that there could be a crack in the pipe. They ran the snake and confirmed the problem was a blockage. He could have easily tried to tell me it was more complicated (and expensive) than that, but he didn't. He also made some good, and rather inexpensive, recommendations to improve the efficiency of the current septic system. I really appreciated his promptness and honesty. Pop-A-Lis is good people.

Great Job, Reasonable Price

When my septic alarm went off, based on six very positive reviews here I gave Pop-A-Lid a call and scheduled an 8-9 AM service the next day. Alex and his crew were here right on time, searched tirelessly for and eventually found our well-buried pump. He was great at explaining the nature of the problem, the costs that would be involved, and the choices we had.

Through the day of digging, pumping, and cleaning up Alex and his partner were always friendly and forthright, seemed genuinely appreciative of the our business, took nothing for granted. I wholeheartedly recommend their service and will absolutely use Pop-A-Lid for any future septic needs and

Professional and Cheap!!!!

We called and Alex worked us in on a Saturday evening. (Called other places before POP-A-LID and nobody else could see us until Monday.) Very Professional Service, and extremely reasonable price. They did a great job , and the price was cheap even though septic tank was very difficult to get to ,under the house. Definitly recommend POP-A-LID for anyone's septic needs.

Life saver!

On a Saturday, four hours before a party, I had a sewage smell in front of my house. I tried Fox (no tech available), Roto-rooter came out, and determined it was something with the sump pump, but couldn't get the right technician/equipment out until the next day. So I called Alex. He's in San Marcos finishing up a call, but said he could stop by on his way home. So in the dark, he comes and pumps the tank out to get me through the party. Then comes back to do the repair. First he shows me that the pump is working intermittently. So he gets a replacement pump. He puts it in, but calls me out to show me something else. This new pump is working, but not like it really should be. He explains how slowly it is draining the tank. So I authorize him to do some more debug. He finds the "mother of all hairballs" between the tank and the first cleanout. He's kept me up to date on costs this whole time, but I was still pleasantly surprised that the final bill was $300 less than what I was expecting!
