I have used Vannoy's on 9 mile Road for for about 18 years. Always received prompt friendly service and good prices.. Matthew Flood has been the manager for 10 years or more and always pleases. Paul Handy is the lead mechanic and is second to none for the honest inspections and quality of work he does. Tires, alignments, brakes, struts - no one else touches my vehicles.

ATTENTION MILITARY!!! I am active military and received orders to Jacksonville fl. So to prevent any car trouble I had preventive maintenance done to my truck at vannoys on Michigan Ave. A month later when it was time for me to take my truck to Jacksonville my tire almost came off right before I got on interstate 10 thank god I decided to go have it checked instead of driving would have killed me and my 6 year old. When I got to vannoys the one on 9 mile road they informed me that the vannoys on Michigan had messed up and I would not be able to drop my truck off in Jacksonville putting me in a huge bind. Doing so much business there the past few years I didn't get mad and start yelling I had faith they would correct there mistake and find a way for my vehicle to get to Jacksonville boy was I wrong. When I returned from Jacksonville Tim from Michigan ave vannoys told me they had to get me 4 new rims because my old ones were no longer available I had to take time from loading the uhaul truck to go pick from the rims he felt my rims were worth i know the ones I got now are not as valuable as my old one. But what ever I had a house to pack up and load with just me and my wife so once it was time to me to go I had to get some documents from my truck I asked Tim if they could help me get my truck to me in Jacksonville since their mistake prevented me from having it there in storage. Instead of fixing what they have caused he was thinking of ways for me to fix the problem like pull it behind the uhaul which I couldn't do because I already had a full trailer being pulled. I even offered to drive it myself if they would get me a plane ticket just to get back so i could have my vehicle to get to work. He said the owner would not do that I told him I don't care how they get it there I just need it don't care if they have it towed or drive it I just have to have a way to get to work and if you are military you defiantly understand. He then said he would drive it if he had to and I told him I would not want him to have to do that but would accept it. So once I got to Jacksonville I called Tim and he said he spoke to the owner and she did not care that there mistake put me in the situation of not having a vehicle in Jacksonville that I needed to get it. And he said he was just being audacious. After 2 days of trying to contact the owner I finally did explained to her what happened and she did not care she wasn't mad about the burden her shop had caused on me and my family she just kept trying to find ways for me to fix their mistake by me coming to get it. I eventually had to give in and have my wife drive me back putting my wife and 2 kids and dog through another 14 hours of driving. Pensacola is a military town and has a lot of junior personnel who would be financially devastated if this was to happen to them. It hurt my family financially but could hurt others a lot more don't risk having your vehicle break down because of their lack of professionalism!

During May 2013 I bought 4 new tires from an online tire seller and chose Vannoy's on N. 9th Ave. from among the list of their partner tire installers. When I was paying for the tire installation at Vannoy's, I told the manager, Ms. Vannoy, that I wanted a road hazard warranty. She became outraged at me, for whatever reason I don't know, and said she would not sell me a road hazard warranty because I didn't buy the tires from Vannoy's, but I didn't understand what she was ranting about. She did agree, however, to sell me a lifetime rotate and balance contract, but only in response to my asking for one - she never offered one nor explained anything about why she disliked my questions. The store did mount and balance the tires properly, but the car's TPMS sensor is lit and she refused to discuss anything about the TPMS valves and gaskets when I asked about that. I can only guess that she somehow dislikes being an installer for an online tire seller and takes out her frustration about that on her customers. That was a very disturbing and memorable experience for me. I recommend looking elsewhere to buy tires, and that's what I'll do when I need new ones again.

I live in Mobile but am in Pensacola often. I pulled into Pensacola and the sidewall blew out on my tire. Not wanting the trek back to Mobile on a spare, I went ahead and purchased 4 new tires. They were installed fairly quickly and I left. I immediately noticed a serious vibration. I pulled into a gas station and after an inspection discovered that 2 tires were not inflated properly and were REALLY low. Also the lug nuts on one of the tires were not tightened. I tightened the lug nuts and returned to the shop. They inflated the tires, checked the lug nuts and re balanced the tires. DANGEROUS!!! Although the balancing job was acceptable, it was far from perfect

Let me tell you this, I worked...

Let me tell you this, I worked for Vannoy's tires a while, they treat their employees very very poorly, they told me that I was worthless, they criticized me for everything I did. They told the girl that took my position that she was, "down right pitiful" because she couldn't drive a stick shift. They would tell workers in the back shop how "stupid" they are or how "retarded" they were on a daily basis. I made minimum wage for a year and wouldn't ever get anything above that no matter how long I was there. One gentleman has been working there 20 years and still makes 9/hr. The owners disrespect everyone who works there even if you are a hard worker. I've never had a customer complaint that I know of, and customers have even came up to me about the manager, saying "She is incredibly rude and doesn't deserve to be working with customers or deserve a manager position." I feel horrible for the people that work there. One incidence a customer came back and switched out the set of new tires not liking the set... well the ones that were on the customers car for a few hundred miles... the manager sold at full price to another customer. They are the WORST company I have ever worked for by far!!!

Missing Lug Nut

Bought 4 new Goodyear tires at Vannoy's and after coming home from the first tire rotation I found a missing lug nut. Dangerous and incompetent. I'll rotate my own tires thank you.

Rude unprofessional

I was having an emergency due to being out of town on training at the base and stopped here. It was off navy boulevard there was a donut shop nearby. The guy that check me in was just scruffy and shaggy looking. I guess it's just a shop though. I was quickly irritated by him though due to me having an important problem to me, was over ridden by what seemed to be his girlfriend or girl he was just trying to be cool in front of. Well, I got over the appearance, but when getting closer to give him my keys I could smell alcohol badly. Not the place I would think this would be good in and he had grease on his hands so looked like he was doing more than the greeting. They never repaired my tire that afternoon something they didn't have. I think they just didn't have the time and yet again rude and literally pushed out of the door. I would not recommend this place just based off getting in the door was a hassle. Drinking while repairing cars also not good. Ready to be back home where people do things the right way.

i've always used big chain sto...

i've always used big chain stores, ie: Sears, Goodyear, and Firestone. When I purchased new tires from Firestone the other day, they recommended $2,900 in repairs to my truck and I became suspicious. I did a lot of calling this morning pricing an alignment and o2 sensor replacement. Firestone said I would have to replace both O2 sensors on whichever side I was having trouble with and the cost would be $300 for that, plus an additional $79 for the alignment. In all fairness to FS, Sears and Goodyear were right there with them. I called Vannoys for my first time ever... I was quoted great prices over the phone and told that if I bought the parts first, it would save me a ton of money. I was in and out of the store in less 1 hour and it cost me less than $80 for an alignment and to have the bad O2 senosor replaced, not including the $40 part. My truck now tracks true and runs like a top.... Thanks Vannoys

Horrible Company

I went to the Vannoy's on 9th ave, but because they are family owned I am posting this review for every location. DO NOT GO HERE!!! I should have known what to expect the first time I walked up and the front desk girl was too busy gossiping with another employee to be bothered with me. When she finally did turn to me I asked the price for the four new tires. I stated that I had called but I wanted to make sure of the price before she took my car. Her reply was simply "yeah, whatever they told you on the phone". Well, after one month with my brand new tires, one exploded on the interstate and I almost crashed. Never in my life have I even had a flat. I took the tire back in confidence assuming that they would replace it, because that is what any respectable business would do. But, because they are "family owned", they have no concept of customer service, it's basically once you're out the door, you're not their problem anymore. They told me it was just a "coincidence" that I had just bought BRAND NEW TIRES and that one exploded, and that these things happen. They offered to sell me another one at FULL PRICE. When I asked the obvious "Well, with the side wall completely exploding, couldn't it be a manufacturer defect or just a bad product?" They stated simply "No." Never go here, I'm letting everyone I meet know about this, because since they are family owned there doesn't seem to be anyone higher up to report it to.
