When I bought my boat, I was referred to Affordable Marine and met the owner, Jeff. He is very knowledgeable, thorough, and professional with his expertise on boat repair and maintenance. His rates are very reasonable and he has quality workmanship. He goes above and beyond and is attentive to detail I highly recommend him and his business if you are looking for a boat mechanic. - Don

Both my brother and myself would never take our boats to anyone other than Jeff @ Affordable Marine. He's kept my family on the water safely year after year. Some of these reviews sound like begrudged competitors. Stand up and honest business people shouldn't stoop so low as to bad-mouthing other businesses via the internet!

Never let Affordable Marine Service work on any of your boats or motors because they will give you nothing but the run around and not fix anything! Plus charge you a lot of money with nothing to show for it.

Affordable Marine Service has had our Mercruiser 454 motor, transmission and parts since February 27, 2013 (that is not a misprint). He originally told us he would have our engine back to us within 30 days. We called and called him and he would not answer our calls. Went over to his business several times and no one was there during posted working hours for about 3 months or so. Then we had the Marina call him and he would pick up the phone immediately. He kept giving us more and more excuses why he didn't have our motor and transmission back. Three months later he said our motor was running fine, then he said all we needed was the oil dipstick and the motor was still running fine. We paid him $2188.82 for the parts he said it had needed and the engine was still supposedly running fine, still waiting for a dipstick months later. Then he tells us it blew a valve. We then paid $177 for a head we purchased at his request. Then 3 months later, we called him and he finally called us back and told us that it was not the correct head, but for $500 he could get a set of heads from a machine shop and we okayed that purchase. Then he called us about two months later that those weren't the right heads either and now he is telling people that we are responsible to get the heads when we hired him to fix the motor. After that, we had asked him to return our motor, transmission and all the parts to the marina and he set up the time and day. That day he didn't show up. He had his wife call us about a half hour after we were there and told us that he went to a "service call" and we would have to get back to him to reset up a date. We told her NO and hung up. He called back at the same number just a few minutes later and we didn't pick up our phone. He told us on our voice mail that we should come to his shop to pick it up. We wanted it delivered to the marina because we don't trust him at all. Now he is telling us he is going to sell our motor and transmission which supposedly isn't working yet if we don't pay him an additional $854.73 without the engine and transmission being repaired.

Don't USE THEM! Find a reliable repair shop. Affordable Marine Service ISN'T AFFORDABLE or RELIABLE!

These guys are great they have worked on my boat for years! They have always been there when I have had a problem. Having a small business you can't make everyone happy but they are very personable unlike bigger companies.

affordable marine has fixed my 23' fish natique countless times, every repair has exceeded my expectations in quality. Although there may be a waiting period, that's expected from a quality marine mechanic in FL. If you find a mechanic with no waiting time, I suggest you take into consideration why no one is waiting for them work on their vessel. If you want quality go to Affordable Marine, if you want something slapped together with minimal reliability go somewhere else.

Has had my boat since since the end of last summer and have been calling for the past couple months and no return call, plus I have gone by during normal business hours a couple times and there has been no one there

@Tana, I've use Jeff and Affordable Marine Service for years. Never have had anything less than great personal service from them and I'm sure there is more to this story than you are telling. My family and I have referred many people to them. They saved my brother from making a $15,000 mistake in buying a boat with lots of hidden problems. We will always use them!

These guys are crooks. I had a horrible experience and when I decided I no longer wanted their service I was charged an unreasonable amount after two weeks of waiting to get any response from them to even get my boat back. When I said I didn't feel I owed that much for no services preformed at all on my boat the owner threatened to keep my boat and for me to take him to civil court! I of course paid the lonely I was strong armed to pay from them seeing I wanted my boat back to have another mechanic actually look at it. Writing this so people are aware if he wants money for no service he will try to keep your boat he is a crook there r a million better places to go and I would suggest you take it to the other places.

These guys saved my weekend. Fourth of July weekend and they stayed late that Friday to get my boat going. Cheapest rates you can find for anyone you can actually trust to do the job right! Will use them from now on!
