I decided I wanted to go buy a new Betta fish! Beverly's normally has a good selection but when I got to their BettaCenter, I noticed that 75% of their fish were "living" in TINY plastic cups that are not filled up all the way. Some of their fish were in 2 ounces of water; I am not joking. The fish could not swim. If it weren't for the fact that Betta fish are great at handling stress, they would have died. In fact, one of them was almost dead. Not only was there no more than 5 ounces in any given cup, but all the water was dirty.

I called an associate to ask if this was normal. He told us "Yes, we know." I picked up some fish & asked if they knew it pathetic & dangerous. "Yes." Why? They were busy & the water evaporates very fast. When we called him out on that excuse, he mentioned that everyone has a clipboard of their tasks. The person just didn't do it. It was Sunday & they were busy. He also told us that they only changed the water whenever someone has time. It's as simple as having a pitcher with stress coat & filling those cups.

I cried about seeing how sad their fish looked. At Petland one of their associates, Tiffany, helped us get everything we may need for a Betta. We realized that this wasn't the first time they had heard about the mistreatment of Beverly's fish. Petland has at LEAST 20 puppies to take care of along with bunnies, kittens, etc. They have the same BettaCenter set-up as Beverly's but each one of these fish had a tiny bowl with plenty of water for them to swim. Their water was a bit dirty, but it gets cleaned at least twice a week. They looked happy & healthy. I was too busy crying at Beverly's to remember to take a photo of their fish, the 4 to 6-ounce plastic cups they keep their Betta's in had the water filled up at about two finger lengths. I attached pics of PETLAND's set-up & the types of cups in which Beverly's keeps their Betta's.

If they are too understaffed to fill plastic cups, I hate to think about what other corners they cut.

They were so helpful and kind. They found a home for my sister in law's birds. I came down to help my brother and my sister in law who is suffering from fatal cancer. She could no longer care for her birds. This store was so helpful in during such a hard time.

I went over there to return a Claws Tank Tongs.The manager Johan said he can't do anything about due I did not have the receipt......very disappointed, due I've spent hundreds of dollars on that store.

Very disappointed in this place. Salt water fish look sick. Poor water management. Dust all over. Globs of dust between water tanks. The store looks like the owner doesn't care about appearances nor his merchandise. Personally I will never go there again.

always hit beverly's for fish.they have a lot of stuff there. they got some good peeps that works there that actually know something about keepin fish. fun to hang and talk fish.

Big store with everything.. I have been getting great guidance and now am working on my third fish tank... Love the help from the staff and have had the best guidance in my new hobby.. This place is addicting! .. Thank You, Scott

I purchsed a light fixture and pump from Beverlys where I have purchased many items. Unfortunately, I changed my mind 10 hours later and was unable to return my items unopened. They tout themselves as a big company but hav epolicies of small outdated companies. They have lost my business forever because this is very poor customer service.So for $200 in returns they lost atleast $1000 a year. Not very bright or customer friendly. I will never step foot in their store again because they havea lot of competers who know how to treat their customers.

We have clearly posted policies for return or exchange at every checkout and on the receipt. Most items may be retuned for a refund with a receipt. Certain items, because of frequent fraudulent returns, such as lights and pumps are exchange only which includes taking the credit as a gift card. These exceptions, once again, are clearly posted. We are not a big company, but a single location, family owned business that pride ourselves in the type of service that has kept us busy for over 25 years.

I am a serious aquatic enthusiast and I found Beverly's Pet Center to have just about anything I could need. They have an awesme selection of fish! My kids love to go with me to see all the other animals. They even have a monkey. The staff are always very helpful.

I went to buy a few crickets from them due to the fact that I had ran out of my feeder insects which I usually get online. I go there to get stuff for my bearded dragon.They sell tiny beardies which are too young to be sold. They are kept on sand and have huge crickets thrown in with them. HORRIBLE! I have mentioned it to the employees there, that the husbandry is incorrect but they are just a bunch of kids who just laugh it off, and say we are not the owners. I mentioned it to the owner and he told me I didnt know what I was talking about. If you are looking for a bearded dragon ,buy from a reputable breeder and educate yourself first on beardeddragon.org

Great helpful and knowledgeable staff, which is a rare find these days. Very entertaining place with lots of animals, even a monkey and a lemur. They had a huge tortoise walking around the store last time I was there! If you are a fish-keeper like me, don;t miss this place.

Great place...my kids want to go every weekend. The place has all kinds of animals. The monkey is unreal! Everytime we go they have new exotic animals there. I get all my fish stuff there and they have a one year guarantee on all electric supplies. They replace a $1000 light for me that was 11 months old.. NO QUESTIONS just a receipt.

Easy to get to from Hollywood. The place is gigantic with more fish selection than I have ever seen for reasonable prices. They have tons of saltwater fish and corals. With 5 tanks at my house I find this one of thebest places to shop. The (large) staff seems to be trained and have helped me many times with water chemistry.

I had a great experience at this store. I just recently bought an aquarium from here, and the people there are very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. I have been back multiple times since setting up my tank and continue to receive great service. GREAT STORE!

Terrible service, fraud, and an owner that insults customers

I tried to return an item 10 days after I bought it. The item was defective and the store manager admitted that the entire line is faulty and they had lots of complaints. They have a 7 day return policy and wouldn't take it back! The owner insulted me, cursed at me, told me that he doesn't have to take anything back and is being NICE by giving customers 7 days, and then told me to never come back to the store. I am currently declining the charge on my credit card and I have complaints filed with the Better Business Bureau and the Florida Department of Consumer Protection for abusive business practices and violation of credit law (which gives you 60 days to return anything from the date of the statement the item first appears on regardless of the store's policy). DO NOT BUY FROM THEM, THEY WILL KNOWINGLY SELL YOU BROKEN JUNK AND THEN NOT TAKE IT BACK!!!
