Store Employee: Ervin Barnett
I purchased a total of $13.99. My purchase included: 1. milk, 2. eggs, 3. (2) boxes of TRIX Cereal. There was a large poster size price on the cereal marked $1.39 each. After, reviewing my reciept I noticed that the cashier charged me $2.99 for each box of cereal. The store had few customers so she was able to walk and view the price as $1.39 each. The cashier referred me to another cashier to assist me, who then said, "Yes, I see they are marked $1.39. She called the store manager who said, "Sorry, the sale ended".
I requested to speak to Mr. Barnett. I waited 15 minutes at the front of the store our conversation started as he walked toward me. A young store employee climbed 2 shelves and pulled the poster signs down and flung them down the aisle. As she pulled the signs I asked Mr. Barnett to look at the price he refused and stated, "The sale ended yesterday and I am not going to refund you the difference". I said, but this is false advertisement when you advertise a sale and do not honor it. He became very very rude and loud and said, "Lady, I am not going to give you the difference". I then stated, "Thats fine refund me my entire purchase". He then made a point to tell me (my purchase was not going to break the store) he will refund my purchase. He was very anxious to get me out of the store and walked real fast to the booth and provide me my purchase refund.
I admit I became loud just as the store manager became unprofessional and not sincere about his store error. I also, made it a point the next time he opened his store to take a walk and make sure all prices are accurate.
I have been a customer for 10 years at this location- Since, this unfortunate incident I will take my business to HEB. My customer care card will evidence that I walk in an average of 3 times a week at that location.
I believe during these economic stressful time that- Above all you should treat the customer fairly. Mr. Barnett was not fair and did not make the right decision. He needs to return to managers training.
I regret the store hired Mr. Ervin Barnett to take charge he will indeed prove his ill need in customer service as this is what keeps the store striving.
