Having recently moved to this area, I stumbled on this store to purchase items for my new house. My first impression of the store was that it was relatively new but it's my understanding that it's been remodeled. I had no trouble finding what I needed as they had a great assortment of outdoor lights (which was what I had come for). I'll definitely be back as they do have a good assortment of outdoor items, tools, and plants.

I know this is a hardware store, but I really go here as a convenient alternative to buying plants at department stores with garden centers, or driving further to save a few dollars at the other big (orange) box hardware and home store.



The garden center here is small, but the plants always seem healthy and well taken care of. The only thing that is discouraging is that they seem to have a HUGE markup on planters and garden pottery. I've seen the exact planters and pots at the larger store for several dollars less, but as I say, OSH is much closer, so I've often chosen to save on gas cost and spend a bit more on materials.



Also, the service here is a bit more personal than other places I've shopped - I never leave feeling like I've disturbed someone by asking for help. All in all a bit larger than a local hardware store, conveniently located, and well stocked.

When I have a small home repair or improvement project and need a place to grab hardware and related supplies on the quick, this OSH - Orchard Supply Hardware - is my local go-to place. Usually I can grab replacement parts for my automatic sprinklers, like replacement heads, solenoids and the like, get nearly any kind of nut, bolt or screw, and of course, choose from all the cool Craftsman brand tools my handy little heart desires. And when the winter rain comes and floods our California basement, OSH sells the best sump pumps available. However, on most items, their prices are noticeably higher than the larger home improvement stores, and even though this store is much closer to my home, if I'm about to start on something big like a garden project or big paint job, I'd rather drive a little further to a store with better prices and a larger selection to save some cash, which can add up fast when taking on a "weekend remodel."
